Welcome to the voting thread for the 21st Golden Hat modeling and painting competition!
"The sweat of slaves and blood of thralls will be the lubricant of our warmachinery. To foes, destruction; to slaves, damnation; to Hashut, domination. Unleash hell!"
How to vote:
Please submit 3 numbers as votes by sending a PM to the Golden Hat account (a special account all Staff members can access). We had 11 entries this time, which means each entrant will receive 11 slaves once the winners have been announced. Also, because there were more than 10 entries, there will be Gold, Silver, and Bronze Golden Hat medals to be awarded!
Each (more or less) anonymous entry is numbered ranging from 1 to 11. There is no need to specify which one you think is 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Simply list the three that you like and we will do the rest. Remember that the slave crew is the focus of this contest.
Voting will close at 11:59 PM Oct 7th, 2014 EST (Eastern Standard Timezone). Once the votes are tallied we will post the results.
Remember, the gold winner will receive a free flayman of any Warhammer race up to Orc size chosen by the winner, to be sculpted and posted by Admiral. Also, one random lucky entrant will win a set of 3rd edition Chaos Dwarf mortar with crew, donated by Fuggit Khan!
What, what, what?! The voting is on?! Admiral you said:
Starting from now, verification PMs will be sent out. Please don't expect the voting thread to be ready very fast for Golden Hat XXI.
Admiral
You've outdone yourself.
:cheers:hat off

Thanks!
Haha, I unintentionally trolled you all. The study tempo is ridiculously uneven between the weeks. Last week was half a nightmare, this is more akin to a stroll in the park. It was child's play to fix the GH images in pauses between studies before the deadline was even up. :)
Some very nice entries this time around. It’ll definitely gonna be hard to narrow down 3 entries - in part because they are so very different from one another. But I find that both some of the large diorama style entries and some of the smallet single models tell some equally powerful stories! I looked at the post four times since this morning and I think I’ve got two votes ready.
The North Korean style death rocket is a brilliant idea and I laughed when I first clicked on it. I instantly recalled this bit from the competition announcement:
Optional composition considerations: Inclusion of the associated warmachine for the slave(s) is entirely optional in the entry photos. Furthermore, although the focus of the entry must be on the slave models, a maximum of one Chaos Dwarf or Bull/Boar Centaur model may also be included in the entry, if desired.
Rather hard keeping focus being shadowed by a Purple Sun Class Nuclear Missile!
I’ve actually only been able to guess two entries. The above mentioned and number 1.
And to the honored member behind entry number 1: That is an insane amount of painted metal! Great job. I know who you are, it’s an impressive feat.
… and while writing this I guessed yet another one.
I’m going to struggle to pick 3. I am also getting distracted by all the other stuff alongside the slaves. I will have to have a good think. There is a lot of good ideas in here.
One of them is my outright favorite…but deciding on two more votes will be really hard for me, they are all good.
And I must admit I’m truly impressed by the sheer variety of models used…I especially like the entries that ‘tell a story’, that when you look at them you can just imagine the story developing around them…well done!
