Abecedar & Titan Wargames Presents: The winners of the 27th Golden Hat competition!

A nailbiter of a voting has finished. We had a soaring turnout of entries, with submissions spanning from Daemon blimps and steam flyers, to flying sailing ships and giant zeppelins. It was splendid to see all these airships take to the skies!

Well done, folks. :hat off

And the winners are:

Enjoysrandom:

Well done guys, I picked the top 3! Love all your work Will!

Will Liam:

Cheers mate - I try and make them tell a little story - easier to do with my army theme

Zanko:

Congrats to the worthy winners! :hat off

                         :hashut

Abecedar:

Well done all, congradulations.  I loved the ones that placed.
And I got to build something I wanted but couldn’t get into the manufacturing que.
So there’s still a bit of work to finish it up to what I envisaged.
And…
Hint Hint… I still need a Skullcracker and a tunneller

Pappa Midnight:

Thanks to all who voted for me, the other entrants and to the moderators!

@Grimstonefire: Love the possessed balloon! Top notch!

Dînadan:

Congrats to the winners.

Abecedar:

Well done Sir Grimm.

Send me address and your prize will be on its way to you soon.

Nicodemus:

Congrats to everyone!! Fantastic effort all around.

Skink:

Awesome! Well deserved wins guys! Those models are astounding!

Abecedar:

I’d love to know (in this thread) what the models you all used are.

Mines pretty obvious. Cardboard, superglue, flyscreen, superglue, scrap bits of junk, more superglue, a couple empire guns and FW Fireglaive models for crew.

It will be a while before I get any other photos up due to th FN Photobucket debacle.

Will Liam:

I have some pics of my build - do I put them up on this page?

Willmark:

Great stuff and congrats Grim.

Abecedar:

I have some pics of my build - do I put them up on this page?

Will Liam
In your Army Blog. But I might do both once I figure out Imgur

TheHoodedMan:

Congratulations gentlemen!

All 3 top tiers could easily have been first placed, really cool models and great to behold.

:cheers

Parish:

awesome stuff guys, well done everybody

Grimstonefire:

Wow! I won. A great return for me, I think this is my first golden hat since 2011 possibly! It’s a very long time anyways.

Thanks to Admiral for doing all the work behind the scenes, and for Abecedar for his very kind offer here. Sadly I have a very long list of things to paint, and the ass cannon doesn’t really fit in with my army aesthetic (great model though it is). So I would kindly like to offer this to my fellow medalists, or failing that to whoever scored 4th place.

I would also like to add that my model is for sale if anyone wants it.

It was great fun doing it, and I am so tempted to do the biggest of the airships complete with tentacles out the front… But I also have many, many other models I’d like to buy.

It wasn’t the best photos I took for it, but I realised you can’t see the mouth very clearly on the lower part of the ship. I’ll take some better photos when possible. The ship is called the Hrakenfel, which I planned to be part of the Black Kraken fleet (in honour of the Dreadfleet ship) fluff wise.
