I have a few army lists that i’ve created, I’m working on digitizing them… here is the first. (the list I was using didn’t limit the Battle Banner bearers weapons selections, but I may take the Great Weapon away from Thrulgok anyway…)

Hmm, I have the 3rd edition set with the original listing for the Chaos Dwarves, but I updated the points and stats using current info, used the tenderizer/whirlwind rules from WOH No 4 (?) which IMO needs some modifying as I’ve used it several times and hand to hand vs it doesn’t really work out well. The Bazuka stats/rules came from WOH No 3 (?) However I downsized the explosion template. Otherwise it was the INDY book for stats… I just included crossbows as an upgrade.
HA, there is no one near me that plays really… and I prefer to use older rule sets, so I don’t go to store warhammer games… I play mostly with my Brother and 1 other guy. Good thought though… but I haven’t seen a current army list that reflects my vision of Chaos Dwarf-dom. If I was to tournament play I’d most likely use the “Counts as Dwarves” or the Indy book. I’ve read several posted here on this forum, and all are unique in their own way, but no one book has a compilation of the 3rd edition stuff in a way that I’d use them… that I’ve seen yet anyway. I don’t like the Demon eater Indy book version of the Whirlwind/tenderizer… the original Warhammer was meant for adaptation, and the new stuff seems too rigid… I did read through a recent thread on someone’s armylist/sourcebook, and the person who mentioned having too many options was right on… there should be some balance… but for me, it’s about fun too… and part of my fun is creating rules and seeing if they work… as to using them vs other opponents, an understanding of what is being presented as my army would have to be had, if what I’m using is not acceptable, then I’d adapt what I had… I still play using mostly 4th edition rules, as that is the edition I really started on, and I have all the books and accessories, and while the 7th edition magic system works well, I like the % based army composition better. In playing it’s all a matter of discussing and accepting which version/view to use. There is another guy that I’ve been trying to play with who is in a league with 7th edition rules, but he also has all the 3rd - 4th edition stuff as well, and we are going to try a 3rd edition game, building our armies using only guidelines as given then, and the rules in place at that time… Really it is playing a different game so to speak!
Ah! yup… that’s the direction I was leaning… Now I just have to find some time! Don’t worry I’ll put it out here if I do get around to it… I have several ongoing… non-warhammer projects at the moment… I think there may be a 3am - 4am time slot some day of the week I could start! Ha! I’m currently reading Grimstonefire’s version. What is most acceptable as a legal force to post and be evaluated? the INDY book or Ravening Hordes at this point? I did see that somewhere about posting/earning CDO badges I’ll have to re-work what I did
