[Archive] Help for a good cause

Sojourn:

Hey guys, I wouldn’t do this if it wasn’t for a good cause and a close family friend.

Below I’m posting an email my mom received. her close friend lost her 17 year old son to cancer in 2004.  This past summer her son’s lifelong friend cycled across Canada, raising money for cancer research (about $32,000, which is pretty good by ANY standard).  He has submitted his story to Tim Horton’s (a coffee chain restaurant and lifeblood of Canadians) for a chance to win $5,000 (I think he also gets coffee for a year out of the deal), which he will put towards his donations to cancer research for children.  Right now he is 2nd out of 10.  If you could please follow the link in his email (again, it’s below) and vote for him (big box in the bottom right of the screen), it would be very much appreciated.

You can vote daily, so if you have the time or effort in you to do it daily, that would be so wonderful.

Thanks so much guys for any effort you can put towards this

Hi everyone,

Just to recall, I was the lone cyclist who rode across Canada this summer to support the charity I created, BikeforMike.  Well, my story of riding across Canada has since been selected from over 4,000 entries as a finalist in the Tim Hortons Great Summer Road Trip Contest.  I am now competing with 9 other stories for the grand prize of $5,000.  The story with the highest number of votes wins.

How do you vote?
You can vote once per day, by visiting Tim Hortons  Voting starts on Monday, September 7 and ends on Sunday, September 20.  Make sure you vote each and every day!

Pass on the Word
Forward this email to your friends, family and coworkers and have them vote once a day.  What a great help this will be!

To see what position I’m in as a top ten finalist, visit here: Tim Hortons

Thanks everyone,
Chris
