[Archive] Help Identifying some old miniatures

Vogon:

Hi,

I’ve recently been given a box of old stuff most of which I can recognise but there are a couple of pieces I have no idea about.

<img src="http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc429/andyfox1976/Vogons%20Chaos%20Dwarf%20Log/IMG_0132_zps1f7762c9.jpg[/IMG]

These guys are really small but look like some sort of goblin?

This guy has “Games Workshop 1984” on the bottom of the base but can’t seem to find it in the old catalogues.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Can’t help you these figures are older than me.

Larendard:

I am not entirely sure but the first two guys are very old goblin wolf riders or lotr warg riders. The other miniature could be one of the very old beastmen (or broo ), gw had some very strange ones in ancient times…giraffe men, camel men, horse men, so this could be a wolf or dog man.

Abecedar:

pretty sure the first are old goblin wolf riders either citadel or marauder and the second is an old C19 lizardmen, No 5 on this page… . http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Lizardmen_-C19(slotta)

Vogon:

Awesome.

Thank you Abecedar (have a couple of slaves)

Cheers

Yeah, I thought they looked familiar, too.  I thought they might be old Heritage minis with the snout protruding as much as it is.  But when I checked them against what was on eBay, they didn't look quite the same; also, I forgot that Heritage minis had those rectangular bases, which these appear not to be.  Whoever made these minis has the interesting characteristic of keeping the tail down, whereas most like to leave it streaming in the wind in an active manner.

So the maker didn't leave any mark on the base?  As long as you knew the name of the manufacturer, you could always try looking them up here:

It's a pity they don't have a breakdown by decade, as this would help your search tremendously.
