[Archive] Hobgoblah Khan

dwalin10:

Hey guys. I’m planning on doing a home build for Hobgoblah Khan, the Lord character in my army based on the stats in Mattias’ Hobgoblins army book. I want him to be HUGE on the tabletop and impossible to ignore. For starters, I’ve acquired an Ogre Mournfang Rider to use as the base of the conversion.  He needs to be mounted on a suitably large and impressive Wolf, so I was wondering which would be best?

So far, I think I might use a Bloodvarg from Godslayer Miniatures :

Or perhaps the Sabbaticus from Clive Barker’s Infernal Parade: http://i42.tinypic.com/ouxdn7.jpg

Last but not least is the Malryte, from Valiant Enterprises: http://www.veltd.net/zencart/images/32mmfantasy/VEL4009.jpg

What do you guys think? Which would look best as a mount for my scratch-build Lord of All Hobgoblins?

tjub:

I would use te thunder wolves from the space wolves range.

Bloodbeard:

I would go with the last one there or as tjub says get a Thunder Wolf. They have some mechanical parts, so a bit of greenstuff will be needed.

Cool idea! Like Grom! I’ve always thought that hobgoblins could become a lot bigger than then life as a slave could allow them.

Been thinking about making a unit of Hobgoblin Brutes from orcs as well.

Abecedar:

I have seen a thunderwolf converted into an empire hero and it worked really well

Fuggit Khan:

Of the three you are contemplating, I like the first one, the Bloodvarg the best.
