Well, as I sit here, staring at my two batches of grey bfsp mini’s I am wondering how people convert their NG’s to not have shields. Do you shave off the shield and add an arm from a spare gobbo or something? That has problems like having a large area with no detail under said shield, and I don’t think my crafting skills are adept enough to detail that area well enough.
So, thats my problem, how do you guys do it?

only thing I can think of, the problem with NG from BfSP is those darned shields, as the arms are sculpted into the body, cutting them is awkward, and removing the shield leaves a big patch of no-detailness…

The thing is on many of them I don’t want to pay for shields, I just want hobgobs with nothing but HW’s. I will have no trouble converting the gobbo shields into hobbo shields I don’t think, It is just that I don’t want shields on many of them and I don’t know how to take them off.

Carve them down and sculpt robes over, maybe have a hand peaking out if you feel like it. Anything else will take more effort than would be worth it.

I realyl like Cornixt’s idea on this one. It’d probably be easiest. Also if you can’t have the spare bits for hands… sculpt the robe so it looks like the Hobgob is holding the robe in front of them like a 1920’s movie villain.
Shields are not a horrible choice for hobgobs. They’re better then light armor as in combat its even better, and you’re still only 3 pts a pop, though I can see where you’re coming from.

Field them with Shields and satisfy the calls from your mates that HGs are undercosted. 
Otherwise, you could buy real NG boxed sets, hehe.
