Joshmohr:
Today, i was experimenting, and found out how to remove 98% of paint using these ingredients:
1. Get some hot water. NOT boiling.
2. Pour a about 1/4 a bowl of Turpentine/Polish Remover/rubbing alcoholic. (If you dont understand, chose ONE of those.)
3. Mix the two, Hot water and the solution you chose.
4. DIP! Dip the selected model in the fluid, just DONT DIP THE BASE! (The base is made of softer plastic, and will melt a bit).
5. Scrub them with a toothbrush, and remove any paints.
6. QUICKLEY run them under cold water, then soak them in water+soap. This will remove the acidic solution.
Ta-Da! A quicker way than simple green!
Pyro Stick:
But isnt there a risk of melting the models if this is used on plastic models? Maybe if you diluted the silloution you could leave the model in longer without the risk of damage.
AGPO:
I tried Pyro’s method this week. Worked for me
azraelezekiel:
I use dettol liquid for stripping plastics’ it works a treat but does need to be left over night.

Worked on 6mm plastics with no damage so should be ok on 28mm.
In fact I use it to do all my stripping.
Make sure you use goggles and gloves as it can damage sensitive skin and hit hurts if you get it in your eyes. In other words be sensible.

Kera foehunter:
heck josh you can use just gasaline to!!
Joshmohr:
There is no risk of melting them if you wash them off within 10 min.
I did a experiment. Soaked it in PURE turpentine for 1 hour. (Softened for a bit, then hardened.) Took 24 to melt.
AGPO:
Out of interest though, the Detol I used (blue spray) seemed to take much longer than Pyro’s method, especially when watered down. Which type exactly did you use?
Joshmohr:
I used “Turpentine”.
It removes paint very well…
Nailpolish remover works well to.
HEAT the water, but not boil, then mix in a bit. Wait a min, and you should see a “Bubble” of it…
Then dip the miniature in the mixture, for 3 seconds, then scrub away. (Remove them from there base if possible, as the base will dissolve much, much quicker.)
