A bit Greenstuff here and a bit superglue there and done. I take repair work as part of the hobby.

Dear god.
How are we ever going to get quality product for the premium prices if you lot just accept shoddy casting that sometimes (heck, often even it seems) are worse than counterfeiters.
That's literally ruining the hobby almost as much as the recasters.

Calm down snowblizz!
Listen. If there are just some small bubbles and stuff I can easily correct that by myself.
...as far as i know fw is great about a return/replace policy.
kekenda
That's true. The really miserable miscasts I had were exchanged and without hesitation.

I think his point was for the premium price and shipping one should not have to put a great deal of effort into fixing casting issues.
I would point out that you are rolling the dice with recasts. While I had a great experience with recasts from china, I purchased some light manila colored infernal guard second hand on eBay from a US hobby store that were of less quality. The resin was of a lower quality, more brittle. The shields are so thin you can see light through them in places. I also had to drill out the holes for the hands a little. The owner said he had acquired them second hand and would not speak to their origins. I paid half the price of Forge World retail so I didn't send them back.
The infernal guard I purchased directly from Forge World have the same thin shields just not quite that thin and had more flash. I drilled out the holes for the hands on a couple of these guys as well. A few of the axes were completely unusable as they were too bent to straighten. Luckily I had some left over from the recasts and just used those to complete the ten authentic infernal guard.
The bottom line is price. Playing fantasy, none the less a forge world army, most of us are strapped for cash. By no means am i suggesting we are entitled to expensive things when we cannot afford them, but it is a personal choice to buy knock offs. Forge World has been great with returns/replacing missing pieces. The problem was paying for duty when my replacement package arrived. The models are very expensive and then to charge their offensive shipping is a huge deterrent.
I smile at the few posts made here about Forge World caring and our support will entail support from them… If that was the case we would have updated/play tested rules, a Destroyer, weapon sprues (8th edition and not one great weapon unit?). FW and GW do not care for us, they are going for what they predict will sell and that is not fantasy.
Buying recasts allows the counterfeiters to sell more poor quality casts to more people. Sure, they’re cheap, and some may even be good casts; you can’t get refunds or replacements if they’re bad though. You also don’t know what is in that resin - strong, odd smells emanating from the minis doesn’t sound good to me for a start.
But mainly, you’re not going to get more Chaos Dwarfs from FW if they don’t sell well. You can hardly complain about lack of support if there isn’t much from our end. Support the people who make the minis or there will be no more minis.

Except that there is no minis to support. Buy this now and we might make something more later? Chicken and egg syndrome.
If they want to be a company they need to suck it up and deal. Sell it cheaper, you got the economies of scale over home-grown casters surely? IF not you need to sell the business to someone who isn't a chimpanzee* The trick to keeping your customers is to give them value.
I repeat, that people have gotten recasts which are better quality the FW is such an unbelievable outrage it boggles the mind.
Forgeworld can go look in a mirror for who to blame. They started casting in China. They decided to give quality the bird but keep pretending they were an exclusive service and charge premiums.
I knew this would happen. I'm not going to sit here on a high horse and condemn people. If you leave a pile of candy in the kindergarten and leave for a few hours you don't come back and rave at the children. You slap your own face and think "gee, that was dumb, better not do that again".
*apologies to chimpanzees who would probably be better at it
Maybe the recasters add something to the resin that makes it cast better but is actually very toxic. Forgeworld can’t sell stuff made that way due to EU law, but the recasters are going for pure profit so they don’t care. Anyone ever tested their models?

Thread closed!.. If the thread was about whether or not to buy fake FW Chaos Dwarf's, but great statement either way!
Forgeworld tabs (or whatever you call the blob of resin under their feet) have a FW-stamp on them, and they tend to be bigger than the tabs on the recasted models. The recaters tend to be more economic about it and only use te amount of resin that's actually needed.
Zuh-Khinie
You don't think that's because the original FW model that the recasters used in their mold had the FW logo filed down, do you?
