Hi everyone!
Last weekend, I took my family down to the 2009 Rocky Mountain Model Show held at Nanton’s Lancaster Air Museam in Alberta, Canada. It was an “overall” type of model show with model cars, military, airplanes, boats, sci-fi, monsters, etc. There was over 600 entries in all catagories and a lot of people showed up to view the models.
I entered 5 models; Dracula, Muntenescu’s Nieuport 17C.1, a 1/76th scale Panzer tank diorama and the CD Death Rocket I made for GH 8 and the “Wizard’s Battle” diorama which is somewhere on this web site.
My Chaos Dwarf Death Rocket won Gold, and my “Wizard’s Battle” won silver in the gaminig figures section. None of my other entries won though.
All in all, it was a fun day!

Gratz on the wins. Its always a good feeling to know that your work and efforts are appreciated. I havent competed in one of those for years… mostly time issues though, down around where i am its mostly the International Plastic Modelers Society (IPMS) events i think.
Last placing i had was when GeeW was doing the Lord of the Rings mini painting contest a few years back.

Doesn’t surprise me in the least, we’ve had a lot of really impressive entries for Golden Hats. All very good qualities.

Very well done and to have got medals in two categories is amazing! I’m curious as to what could have beaten your wizard’s duel though. Still, very well done and you’d better do as well or better next year!

It's all painted. The Launcher is Testor's Steel Metallic, although it does look like GW grey in this picture.
It's a scratch build from Evergreen styrene, which is white.

Been there, tried that. Not been successful - mostly the GW store run contests that are totally rigged. I’m not bothering to enter these contests - too time intensive for little payoff (even in terms of models for an army, IMO)
