[Archive] If you had to redesign the Chaos dwarfs what would

Kera foehunter:

Like you can trust the black orcs !!

GeofreyShank:

Add chaos dwarf warriors as a cheaper option to infernals with more customisable upgrades.

Add the old war machines (earthshaker and death rocket) with updated rules and options to be hellhound or mounted on a carriage.

Add the old hobgoblin bolt thrower.

Add the third edition bazooka as an attachment option for chaos dwarf core units.

Add updated versions of the old characters.

Add immortals as a new rare choice.

Add the kolosus as an expensive but stompy rare choice.

Add all female bezerker squads.

Style wise I really enjoy the forge world aesthetics but would most likely blend some more masked dwarfs in with them making the warriors have a more hellcannon vibe mixed with bald hatless dwarfs as well. Big hats would be for crew leaders and the old returning characters.

But yeah that’s my two cents worth.

nicque-ta-mare:

I really like the Forgeworld models/aesthetic but find their rules restricting. So I would just modify that. I’d like see viable options that aren’t war machine dependant

Add another lord option, fighty. Special rule to reflect his outcast status; maybe he can go in non-dwarf units
Wolf riders in core
Separate hobgoblins into “normal” and sneaky gits. Sneaky gits are scouts/ambushers with two handweapons, poison, throwing knives and animosity rules where they kill each other instead of squabble
MAYBE basic warriors… not 100% sold on this
Add slavers, core/special, can be ambush/scouts. Bonus when pursuing, some kind of bonus for destroying units (like beastmen collecting banners but different)
Magma cannon is: drop strength… increase points… rare…? something
Bull centuars need to be better: S5T5A2, or A3
Add black orcs to special but give them some rule to reflect the lack of trust, maybe CD units that elect to flee causes panic
Iron daemon just make the boiler option random movement
Destroyer; -1 to wound from non-magical attacks only if the strength exceeds his toughness

rpitts2004:

I would keep everything the same seeing how grateful we should be that forgeworld gave us a new book and lots of new models.

Thommy H:

Yes, it was extremely charitable of them to make a product for people to purchase.
