[Archive] It Came from the Deep (Fishmen)

Murdock129:

One of the many armies that’s not officially made by GW that I plan to build up and use with the magic of ‘counts as’ are Fishmen, these models I have so far are made by Kyte and sold at Troll Forged Miniatures, he has made more but TFM haven’t put them into production, despite having had the greens for about a year :mad

Two Behemoth Crabs (Still have one to assemble)

Two Cthulhu Priests, a Dark Cultist and a Priest on a Ray

A High Cthulhu Priest

And a pile of Deep Ones

All need painting, I do plan to use Non-Kyte models in the army too in the future

zobo1942:

This is a miniature that might fit in well - Fenryll’s ‘Creature of the Deep’

(I’m looking for one right now…)

That'd make a good Jabberslythe, lol.

beefcake:

Cool. What army list are you basing these guys on. Lizardmen?

Some headswaps with some skinks would also make some good deep-ones if you have any spare heads to use for them.

Murdock129:

The problem is the kits come with heads and limbs, but the heads attached (and they are hell to assemble anyway). And their Lizardmen, the Deep Ones are Skinks, the Crabs are Kroxigors, the Priests are Skink Priests and a Slann, the Cultist is Chaxax and the Ray is a Terradon

Yeah that Fenryll one is already on my list of extra stuff, along with quite a few other things

beefcake:

I’m looking forward to see what you use for a stegadon. My an even bigger Crab?

I thought the smaller Crabs would have been those dinosaury things the skinks herd about. I love to see these sorts of “count as” armies.

Murdock129:

Well Kyte has shown he’s making a Puffer Fish for a Razordon and a Moray Eel for a Salamander

He’s also shown he’s made a giant Warturtle, and the green is with TFM, but it’s not in production yet :mad , which I would use as my stegadon, even if it’s a little bit large

Zanko:

This guy from RAFM will suit too:

… and what about this war turtle?

                      :hashut

theforgefather:

These look really cool. Now paint them!

The first one looks a little bit like the equivalent of a Greater Daemon (like the Priests are Bloodletters and that thing is a Bloodthirster lol). The second one I have marked down for a future project of Snakemen/Crocodillians

Also this is the warturtle I'm talking about specifically

And finally, my intention is next to purchase a 'Leviathan' model

G.2:

I think Eureka miniatures make some 28mm frog warriors, toad cavalry, and turtle tank. Have a look on their website.

Murdock129:

Here’s my newest model, the Catachan Green paint scheme is the general one I plan on using in the whole army, anyway here it is, the Leviathan (Or the Watcher in the Water):

In my hand:

Hunting a poor Irongut:

Scaled with Behemoth Crabs:

Scaled with Behemoth Crabs and Deep Ones:

Also surprisingly, a Finecast model without any abnormalities (aside from slightly small tentacle holes which was sorted in about ten seconds)

theforgefather:

Nice idea! The watcher in the water looks good

Murdock129:

Here are the painted models, they may look a little odd but it’s the best I could do:

Army Shot:

Dunno why it’s sideways

Leaders:

Crabs from above:

Crabs from the front:

The crabs are white simply because I wanted to try something wacky, no other reason
