I’m using Army Builder Software 3.4 and it has the Chaos Dwarfs army using data from the Forgeworld Tamkurhan book. That’s is supposed to be the GWS official, approved, usable list data.
So I’m looking at the K’Daai Fireborn, and one of their built in attributes is “Blazing Body” which says, “any model (friend or foe)next to it takes an automatic S4 hit , EXCEPT a chaos dwarf using it as a mount”
Experimenting around with the AB software I can’t find a way to mount any CD on a Fireborn.
Both the Great/Bale Taurus and K’daai have that rule, which have different wordings on their respective bestiary pages in Tamurkhan. Army Builder obviously just has one version of the rule saved, which it applies to all the models that can have it. The mount part is only relevant for Tauruses though.
As an aside, it’s generally pointless to ask a rules question based on something you read on Army Builder, since 99% of the time your answer will be “AB just got it wrong”. Check the books first.
Why would it take a crazy CD to ride a fireborn? Dark Elves ride Cold Ones, Ogres ride Rhinox, Boars, poison Spiders and wolves are mounts for many troops and Bretts ride Pegs way up in the sky and TKs ride huge serpants and Lizzies ride stegs.
Oh my gosh!! A CD moving at the breath taking speed of 6. You could model him with the wind blowing through his hair and those short little legs coming nowhere near the stirrups. Maybe even fashioning a ladder along side of the Fireborn. If nothing else, it would be good for a laugh.

It's not so much the temperament of the fireborn, it's the fact that it is made out of lava and fire. A bit toasty on your buns.
