I run, bike, play drums and weight train 3 to 4 times a week although between moving house twice in the last six months, writing reports (I teach primary school), and general insanity I took a few months (read as 5) off. That being said for the last three weeks I have been home in North America seeing family and friends. On days is hour and a half of weights… Off days 20-30 minutes on the treadmill. I would run outside but the snow and ice in Boston have kept me off outside activity. Of course 1 hour of shoveling today was a nice add onto the tread-run…
I will be back in shape within the next month or two…
Oh and once I get back to Melbourne… The gym and pool are on the sixth floor of the new bought (so no more moving) casa… SWING!!! It’ll be good to be home!

Just want to point out a few things, while I was thinking about them.
Round is a shape, and can actually be a fit one! Fitness doesn’t just have to do with circumference, it has to do with exercise. While you may not be burning pounds while exercising (and will actually reach a point where the opposite happens about half-way to “skinny”) any aerobic exercise you’re doing increases your fitness. Anaerobic exercises like dead lifts or weight training will get you a more “buff” physique (ie, more muscle mass), but when you run, jog, or even walk long distances regularly you’re improving your lungs, cardiovascular (particularly the heart) system and multiple muscle groupings throughout your body.
As a bit of a practical example, before joining the military I weight approximately 140 pounds, and had a 32" waist. Currently I have a 36" waist and weight 180 pounds, but I guarantee that I’m 200% healthier than I am now. Previously I ate a lot of junk food and rarely exercised (mostly just a few LARPing events). However, I started working on what I’m eating, and exercising 3-5 times a week (along the way my lucky high metabolism gave out due to age and diet changes). I can regularly do work and exercise much better than I once could. I don’t attribute it to losing weight or circumference, because precisely the opposite happened, but to regularly working out.
Some of the best exercises for your health are ones you can do without equipment and all it takes is a bit of courage to walk outside and do a few push-ups, sit-ups, runs, and fail a bit at first (because you wont get where you want immediately).

Just want to point out a few things, while I was thinking about them.Couldn't agree more. Those who judge how healthy they are by how low thier weight is totally miss the point. People who play proffesional contact sports way a ton, but you can guarentee they're fit as hell

People who play professional contact sports way a ton, but you can guarantee they're fit as hellI'm 6'2", barrel chested, and my thighs are the same size as my g/f's waist. However, aside from a slight & recent spare tire (blame my job), I'm nice & trim, and composed pretty much of muscle.

While I’m loathed to turn down the company of comely young maidens, I don’t think that’s the kind of exercise I’m needing some how.
Kera foehunter:

Hashut’s Blessing:

Kera foehunter:
yea i be back in 2 hours cheers
Hashut’s Blessing:
Sojourn, I was only there for 35 mins
Although, it;s a half hour walk each way and I had a meeting with one of my lecturers. HB seems to be too engrossed with CDs to concentrate. Whoopsy.
Also, that was something I forgot to mention to everyone: you burn no calories for the first 30mins (approximately), so a half hour walk tot he gym is good, or do a half hour of cardio once there before starting your regime…
Xander:
Sit ups to keep the stomach abs solid. That’s about it…
I ought to do more. I’ve been thinking about it for a few months… For now I will settle for eating three healthy meals a day and sleeping well.
Godbob and his jolly rogers:
Geez. I thought we had some strapping lads around here... I never thought you couldn't manage a few shopping bags... :PA few! thats a bit of a understatement
