I like the idea of fire goblins. Other than, I am not sure theyed live in the lava unless they was naked with no weapons. abit like fire imps or fire elemantals.

D.O.O.M did a really cool lava giant/golem here some time ago, doesnt seem to be able to fint it now though…
Loki:
I think a lava troll would be a great idea for a uint filler, you could use the troll from the bfsp set just remove the rock that it has in is hands and you have a great pose for it bursting up through the lava
nitroglysarine:
popping forth from lava - hmmmmm
oh! oh! oH! - Lava Kraken!
astragoth:
page 157 in warhammer rulebook:
“In the Dark Lands, blacksmiths of Chaos emerge from their citadels. Amongst them comes lava spewing golems and vast winged bulls branded with the mark of the Father of Darkness.”
I think that answer your question:hat off
starscream:
I am actually working on something similar, I came upon this thread searching for a pic of a lava gollom type thing to copy the paint scheme from.

There was a Warhammer Chronicles article on Goblin Ecology... or were Fire Goblins something else entirely?

Fairly sure that’s what he means. I wish I had that copy with me, instead of 221 miles away!

Fairly sure that's what he means. I wish I had that copy with me, instead of 221 miles away!OK, I checkede it out.... the Fire Kobolds are "Goblinoids" and often mistaken for Goblins, according to the article. Doesn't look like they are immune to fire or lava, but they do have a "spit fire" attack.

Well, I knew they weren;t goblins, partly fromt he name kobolds, but sounds cool. Was it just a ranged attack?
Nicodemus:
Well, I knew they weren;t goblins, partly fromt he name kobolds, but sounds cool. Was it just a ranged attack?Actually I posted too soon... the Fire Kobolds are fire resistant (fire-based attacks are made at -1S) and the fluff says the live around volcanoes and fire pits. So they're sounding better as a useful include of some kind of a CD army... even as a unit filler or something.

may be i should paint all my hobgoblins RED… ?
I had and idea of useing the old chaos nurglings as fire imps or snotling and may be adding wings to them?
Clinkz:

Moltan:
ok i have an idea for unit filla
I was thinking of making a lava dragon or a golem bursting out of the ground ( the ground being solid lava and ash )
My question. Is there any other animals or races that would live in lava in the warhammer world?
zobo1942:
I think that, given the mutagenic qualities of warpstone and chaos, you could find pretty much anything living anywhere.
If your imagination can think of it, I’m prety sure you could find it.
Moltan:
I know I can think of many like lava trolls or lizards…
I was after any race thats named in any of the army-rule books or history of the warhammer world
dedwrekka:
As I recall the short lived “flora and fauna of the old world” articles in WD mentioned fire goblins as a type of greenskin race. Dunno, though. That was a long time ago.
If we have trolls who live in forests, stone trolls who live in mountains, river trolls that live by rivers, and ice trolls that live in frozen areas and at the tops of mountains, then I don’t see why we can’t have fire trolls living around volcanoes.
Da Crusha:
My question. Is there any other animals or races that would live in lava in the warhammer world?how about the Great Taurus
