[Archive] Legio Cybernetica

Vash:

for some reason i can never hold my attention to a single project for longe… even not my chaos dwarfs. and i’m in need of a little distraction from building big hatted curly bearded dwarfs and painting them red and bronze. soo…,

i start something that has been pounding in my head for some time, a 40K army constiting of imperial robots, The Legio Cybernetica. it’s something that’s only mentioned and ruled in the first edition rogue trader rulebook from back in the late 80’s. it’s been a personel hunt for me to collect all rulebooks from that era and so i found this lost and unused branche of the adaptus mechanicus.

not sure yet what rules to use but i’m thinking of space wolves, as the thunderwolves might make for a nice robotic gap between tanks and infantry. i’ll be using old epic 40K knights (small titans) as infantry and tech priests/IG engineseers as HQ’s and squad sergeants/leaders and the odd epic Titan as heavy/special weapon.

so far, i have almost nothing, about 13 knights, 1 command knight, 2 engineseers and the thunderfire cannon techpriest. but i’ve found some more knights on ebay, if i can get those i’ll have a basic army pretty soon, this is it so far:

and yeah, i bought then in this horrible state, a few broken weapons and some bad paintjobs… nothing i can’t fix.

i missplaced one of my enginseers… that’s annoying, and i should have some titans aswell… but i can’t find those either…

Not sure if you know this, apparently Detol removes paint from plastic models.

I was suprised to hear it, but it appears to be true!

Vash:

i’ve heard others about it, it should work better then most other things people try. i think i might even need to strip the painted ones, the layer is pretty thick, as if old dried out paints were used without thinning them with water.

good news is i found my epic reaver titan back and it appears to be a perfect candidate for a terminator model.

I was expecting to see some Lego conversions

cornixt
Haha, me too... :P

Vash:

Lego… well, i could have done that aswell  i still have quite a large collection of the stuff.

it’s quite an obscure part of the old rules, so i’m guessing not many people know about it. but that’s what i like about it.

the models i’m following on ebay now have different weapon options, so i just noticed. that would give me most of the models i need for the first few troop choices.

Vash:

finished painting the first testmodel, i went for a blue/green colourscheme. might do some squad- and killmarkings once i got some other models painted.

Loki:

Really like the concept of this i look forward to seeing more of these guys soon
