[Archive] Legion of Azgorh - Through the Fire and the Flames

m0rg0th:

Hey guys,

I just finished taking photos of my Chaosdwarf-Army and I wanted to show them to you aswell.

Basically its about 2500-2800 Points, depending on the equipment and I painted them for a tournament in Austria, where I live.

Here is what I have painted so far:

Sorcerer Prophet on Bale Taurus

Hobgoblin Khan on Giant Wolf

Bull Centur Taur’ruk

Infernal Guard

Hobgoblin Cutthroats with Bows I

Hobgoblin Cutthroats with Bows II

Bull Centaur Renders

Deathshrieker Rocketlaunchers

K’daii Destroyer

I hope you like them. The next things I am going to start is a Magma Cannon (and a second one aswell, but later), a Hellcannon, 3 more Centaurs and 5 Wolf Raiders.

Cheers,

Patrick

I got all excited…then I realised you said Austria not Australia. Great army so far. thanks for sharing

cornixt:

Looking very nice.

What’s the deal with the inverted bases for some models?

Just to have more area for lava.

I just edited in new pics as the old ones were kind of desaturated in colour...

Onyx:

I have to say: The way you paint goblin skin is plain epic. So are all horns and some parts of normal skin (Tau’ruk hands for example). I like the other stuff as well, but these things stand out!

What I don’t like too much is the skin and wings of your bale taurus. Too much glistening going on there for my taste.

I don’t mind the inverted bases. However doing this kind of thing would make a movement tray with a defined border a good bet I suppose. This would of course mean you’d have to have the same kind of tray for your whole army.

Karring:

I love those Infernals…

In the other hand (please accept my apologies) I do not like the final effect of the Taurus and Destroyer. I mean it seems too brilliant compared with the remaining army.

But it is only my personal like: a great job anyway:cheers

NoisyAssassin:

Very cool stuff! The glistening bloody Destroyer is all sorts of creepy.

Agreed! The first thing that came to my mind was how creepy the bloody Destroyer is...I'd think twice about just picking the model up. Beautifully done, some of the best paint work I have ever seen, simply amazing :hat off

m0rg0th:

Thank you very much.

As for the inverted Bases: I like it. Especially once my movement Trays will be done (they are on my list aswell). But I get it. It’s about 50/50… some like it, some don’t. I can live with that.

The glistening body of the Taurus does not look that glistening. But the pictures were taken with flash and that of course enhanced the effect.

I see... Damm it flash!:idea

Unzul:

Amazing army, the blood is very very realistic, I love it!

p.s. what do you use for the body of the hobgoblin?

m0rg0th:

Thank you!

The bodies of the Hobgoblins are the bodies of Skaven Stormvermin.

Goltor Lintrepide:

What a nice bloody army you got there, good work!

Skink:

Oh my that’s a very good army! Welcome to the forum mate! I’d love to know how you painted Hobgoblin skin!

Admiral:

That’s a professional paintjob if I ever saw one. Good army!

m0rg0th:

Thank you for your kind words. Anyone who wants to vote on CMON can do so HERE. Thank you!

@Skink: The Goblinskin I painted with a white prime, wash them with Seraphim Sepia, once they are dry wash them with Biel-Tan Green. Thats a good start for the skin. After that I just work my way around the shadows and highlights with various mixes of green.
