nilbog:

Thanks for the report, the images came out fine. Were they done on battle chronicler?

Interesting that magic did very little apart from causing damage to the casters!

I don’t think brettonians can complane about stone throwers when theirs is so good for such a low cost. Chaos dwarfs are still dwarfs, with excellent black powder skills, just with added daemons. Of course our war machines are excellent.

What was your thinking behind shooting the yeomen with the magma cannon isntead of going for the knights? I can see the infernal guard eventually saw the knights off, but wouldn’t it have made it a bit easier if the magma cannon shot at them as well?

Congrats on the win :cheers

rpitts2004:

What was your list?

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

propervillanz:

nilbog: Yes i used battle chronicler, first time too so i am glade it came through. In terms of magic, I know we were both thinking the same thing, but in all honesty i was very happy with the results (he had dwellers below) and was never able to cast it.  In regards to the magma cannon it was the first time i had ever used a cannon of any sort so was not very confident about it.  Likewise, by the time he charged my infernal guard he only had 3 models left in the unit so i was pretty confident that i could take him.  Plus by that time i was expecting the Yeomen to charge at any moment and was trying to panic them away.  And yeah i was trying to tell him the same thing, but as a dwarf player he denies the very existence of the Uzkul-Dhrath-Zarr.  So when he sees what they can do i think he goes into sensory overload.

rpitts: my list was as follows:

thrawn:

good battle report, thanks! keep them coming.

Da Crusha:

nice battle report and results. did you think the fireglaive and blunderbuss paid for themselves sometime you seemed to hit with a ton of shots only to cause 3 or 4 wounds. do you think your army would have done so well if he would have been running a more traditional Bretonian list for example, no ranked infantry? brettonian armour and speed is there greatest strength.

Mad Dave:

Great report keep up the good work.

propervillanz:

Thanks for all the positive feedback i will not be playing another battle for another several weeks but will post when i do.

Da Crusha: My army was built around the idea of concentrated artillery bombardment. The whole idea was to destroy the knights to a degree that they would become useless in combat at best, though i would settle for them to simply be manageable (allowing my units to hold for a turn or two). It is built around the idea that i will have a devastating shooting phase so it would have the potential to hold up against an all cav army.

I think a mix of blunderbuss and fireglaives work well depending on the situation, Fireglaives seem great at laying down covering fire and picking off tattered. While the Blunderbusses seem best at creating threat zones and are awesome on a stand and shoot reaction if your dice agree with you.
