[Archive] Lifer's big hats (sorcerer pic added Jan 11th)

Lifer:

Yo! Here’s my big hat chaos dwarfs i’ve converted & painted for a while ago… They’ve been on Finnish site but finally decided to post them here as well. More are in progress (including sorcerer and lord) but don’t hold your breath

Command group Made of 6th ed dwarves, gs, various bits and board pins. Theme is quite traditional because i think it works very well. No banner yet.

ps. I’m not the best photographer so sry for poor quality

turquois dwarf:

wow!

i like the noses

Ishkur Cinderhat:

Hah, bighats are always welcome! :hat off

al-hashut:

Welcome to Team BigHat.

They look great, especially the hats themselves. If i was to nit pick, i’d say tusks could only improve them further

wallacer:

Nice lighting effects on the bases.

Captain Crayon:

Dude they are fantastic

The noses remind me of the gauls in Asterix & Obelix.

nice work :cheers

Kera foehunter:

great job on the cd like the use of ver.6 dwarfs lifer

Godbob and his jolly rogers:

what the one on the far right holding a bow,a horn,a straw?

Lifer:

Thanks for comments everyone  Made me wanna finish more of these. I’ll get back to them when i find time.

@al-hashut: Some are going to have tusks but these three turned out not having them

@Godbob and his jolly rogers: He’s a musician so it’s a horn. Bad view for it tho.

Xander:

Well done, they look excellent!

Father Grumpmas:

Great stuff - excellent work on the hats - you have got them looking nice and even.

Uzkul Werit:

Well done on those noses. The older plastic Dwarfs make better Dawi Zharr than the newer ones.

Dino:

They look great Lifer. Can’t wait to see more of them.

Lifer:

Okay, here’s a Big Hat Hero with great weapon.

Conversion: The original model is slayer hero, quite difficult to modify, being metal. Hat is made of a board pin, gs and shield on top; the Axe is from Grimgor + gs (i know, it’s huge :D); scale armor is made of gs. Oh and the hair at the back is weird-looking 'cos i had to sculpt it myself. The nose and tusk look good imo.

Painting: After those three warriors i finished, i decided that the beards need more highlighting so i focused on it here. For the weapon i wanted lava effect and rusty/dried blood for the metal part. The lavaeffect didn’t come out the way i wanted but i’m fine with it anyway. On the other hand, the lava at the base turned out very well.

ps. not very good pics this time either. Holla if ya want better

Comments appreciated

Ghrask Dragh:

Axe looks excellent!! great idea.

The blending on the horns and tooth is amazing, horns are tough to get right :hat off It’s a really good conversion, nice to see a different look to big-hat miniatures

:cheers

Canix:

Great Big Hats :hat off shows all editions of dwarfs make good conversions when they take to the dark side;)

The shield topped hats look cool true tallhats:hat

furrie:

Kera foehunter:

i like the muntan slayer hehe the rock rules love the lava paint job

Narflung:

Thats a really good look for a hero. Nice work, I’m following this closely

Lifer:

Hey guys n gals!

It’s been a while since i’ve been here. Too bad that there’s a thing called life interfering with CD hobby
