Brown soap will work. Ethanol (pure alcohol 97%+) wiæl work.
But the best I’ve found is ‘cleaning chemicals’ - in lack og the right word. You know that stuff you put in a bucket of water to clean floors or tables. In denmark we have ajax, una and others.
Very quick and don’t damage yhe minis.

If they are all metal, then acetone works well and for some of the very hard enamels then oven cleaner can work if the acetone doesn’t

Follow the tutorial poster by Abecedar! Dettol works wonders! I personally stripped paint off thirty plastic Chaos Dwarfs and 50 metal Hobgoblins. You can leave them soaked for weeks, the Dettol doesn’t dig through plastic and melts all the paint away!

Drop the model in some Simple Green and clean with a toothbrush a few hours later. Very simple, doesn’t damage metal or plastic.

Just a general public service announcement. It is very “local” as to what substances are available.
It’s terribly frustrating to be told “just go to Wall-mart and buy Simple Green simples” when you are one ocean away.
I couldn’t even get Dettol at the local pharmacy. They looked at me like I was insane when I asked.
Of course coins ha another side, when asking it pays to give a locality so people can avoid suggesting things that are banned in you continent or something.
