Hi All,

Quick and easy question;

Q: Under the rule for a Fire Thrower “a unit suffering any casualties must take a panic test”.

Therefore does the Magma Cannon benefit from this rule?

No, because the magma cannon uses the same procedure for firing a cannon, and the cannon procedures do not auto cause panic tests to units hit by it.

Pretty odd too if you ask me.

Additionally this makes the magma cannon terrible in some situations because if you shoot a building with it, it does only d6 str5 hits. And it forces you to use the grapeshot rule if you needed to kill something very very close to your magma cannon as opposed to just throwing out the template from the tip of the barrel.

To be honest, the Magma Cannon is one of the best war machines in the game, os should be looking to make even better.

Yes because it is fired under all the same procedures as a cannon. Cannons can grapeshot.
