Castellan:
Hi, guys. So, as I said, I will be going to GW this weekend with money for Chaos Dwarfs. But, I need ideas on making them from GW plastic kits. I was thinking about using WOC heads, but any advice is appreciated.

How good are you with green stuff? Check out the army blog section for inspiration, there’s plenty of material there to dig and digest. Depending on your budget I’d advice for a Dwarf and Chaos warriors set.
Castellan:
Well, I would like to do the Dwarf with Chaos Warriors thing, but I cannot (sadly) use the WOC heads, as the Dwarf heads come assembled.
Time of Madness:
Some of the WoC chaos warrior heads are small enough that they won’t look bad on dwarf bodies. Some of the other heads you get in a box are too large.
If you are only going to be using the heads from the warrior box I’d suggest you just use ebay to buy the heads. You can get them fairly cheap and you won’t be left with the remaining box of chaos warriors.

Castellan:
But how about the Dwarf heads on there? They come assembled on the front of the torso, how would I really fit the WOC heads on?

Also, Dwarfs are rumoured to be up for an 8th ed book soon. You might want to wait for any new plastics they get.

I think he means vanilla dwarfs, not the chaos flavoured ones.
I’m still hoping for a Bretonnia release soon, seems like (and has been) ages since they’ve gotten some love.
Anyhow, I do think that regular boxed sets of dwarf warriors are the easiest to convert. And as said, just do a quick search on youtube to find the videos about chaos dwarf conversions.
theforgefather:
aww! i got my hopes up. If anything, they need to upgrade the empire book , because there are only a few plastic box sets in there that you can get today
Zuh-Khinie:
Almost everything in the empire army is available in plastic (waraltar, heroes etc excluded)… Bretonnians and Wood Elves still have 6th edition books, and the only combat unit that can use ranks in the WE army is available only in metal…
No, GW should really spend some attention to those old farts that have been neglected now for over an edition. I’d really hate to see a new chaos or empire release before WE and Brets get adressed.
And yes, I’m biased… The biggest pile of models I have are Bretonnians.
Skink:
…The biggest issue with Chaos Warriors + Dwarfs conversion is size. You will struggle to rank them up properly on small 20mm bases…

Well, if you have problems with Chaos Warriors heads not fitting on dwarfs (but I have no experience at all, so better listen to other guys above) I can suggest you to use the regular dwarfs heads provided with the kit.
Why not? I think painted properly they can be pretty evil… I would swap weapons, give them some more chaotic weapons or simply get rid of runes and paint them in dark and red colors.
Another nice trick is to use Chaos marauders shields.
A simple weapon swap and Chaotic shields with a proper paint job make wonders!
The coolest thing with Chaos dwarfs is that you can let your imagination roam freely
