Neil:
I doubt that you can make enough money to replace not having a job, but I saw this yesterday - Link
The other option is E-bay, if you have a lot of (nice) junk to sell. If you know what you are doing (ie stick to selling something you know a lot about) you can make a living form this.
AGPO:
Plenty of places will hire 16 year olds, you just can’t expect to walk into a great job straight away. Look at resteraunts and the like and see if they need kitchen assistants/general dogsbodies. The vast vast majority of internet schemes are scams

There is no easy way to make “fast” money, unless you are the person convincing people that they can before pocketing their “processing fee” and raiding their bank account. The crappier jobs pay more, but night work is usually the best balance. Apply at any large warehouses or similar. Alternatively, working in large supermarkets is easy and the least annoying.
Khunag:
One can make quite a bit of money looking around 1$/Ł shops, charity shops etc. for nice cheap items and selling them on ebay.
warh:
if you are a pro painter you can buy some minis paint them upp and sell them on ebay.

Hobby shops might be a loss. Mine is a “Mom & Pop” affair.
