MLP:
I really like the look of this. Simple but nicely fitting for chaos dwarfs without going the usual lava base way.
How’ve you painted the slag colour?
Admiral:
I certainly like it, and will probably borrow your idea for my bases and movement trays. How did you paint it?
CopperPot:
Simple and quick was what I was aiming for and I didn’t use any paint only one wash (Nuln Oil or Badab Black) one coat onto my basing material.
It’s the PVA glue that gives it the colour and the rocks are just cat litter.
CopperPot:
Sorry didn’t answer your question, for base material I use shot which is used to clean metal (shot blasting) it’s finer than sand and when it’s glued to the base with PVA it rusts and once it dried I seal with PVA again then one coat of Badab black add a crystal or two and its done.
I was just playing around with new bases I think this one will be for my infernal guard I dont like the lava effect it seems everyone is using that.
Kera foehunter:
they look good enough to eat !!mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm brownies

CopperPot, these have grown on me in like 5 minutes :) i was going to originally post i like my bases with a little dimension to them (my dwarf army is all standing on rocks (painted bark)) but each time i’ve scrolled back up, i love the colours for some reason. Good job bro! This may or may not get copied by me :cheers
brotsorrow:
Did you wait for the shot to rust a certain amount before the next coat of PVA?

No need to wait once it has dried to the base it will be orange then cover in pva just to seal it, I use a coat of badab black just to blacken the orange.
Discoking:
Where do you buy shot blast from? Lol.
CopperPot:

CopperPot:
To be honest mate I dont know its only scrap metal dust I get it from work for free but I know you can buy it in bags as small as a bag of suger to a sand bag size amount.
Get yourself down to wicks any major DIY shop would sell it in there merchant section.
I cant imagine its expensive I’ll find out which merchant we use to get it at work tomorrow.

Can someone help me out fluff wise what Ore’s are mined on the Plain of Zharr, what are these rare metals and their colours.
CopperPot:
So ok I’ve been playing around with bases again this one being for my Hellcannon this is very much a work in progress what do you think.
Lava Lord:
:hat off Chaos Dwarf’s lived to mine. Therefore, they would mine anything they could find and use, shape, or combine and change. Here are a few minerals; iron, tin, sulfur, aluminum, coal, nickel, manganese, bauxite, titanium, zinc, silver, gold, copper, and carbatite to name a few that would be looked for and used
CopperPot:
What about plant life does it grow in the Plain of Zharr maybe something like daemonic plants as such.
