[Archive] Music that resonates

Whether you like Kid Rock is not the topic of this thread. Since I rarely get a chance to listen to much music when I do I want it to mean something to me and this one resonated when I heard it for the first time today.

(Realizing that this has been out for several months)…

“It was 1989, my thoughts were short my hair was long
Caught somewhere between a boy and man
She was seventeen and she was far from in-between
It was summertime in Northern Michigan”.

Moral of the story you turn around and wonder where it went…

Hot chicks, beer, summer, Warren Zevon loop, Lynyrd Skynyrd loop, AWESOME Video, did I mention hotties?

Kera foehunter:

Willmark the studd !! back in the day !! 1989 i was real young then (not giving my age away)

live life to the fullest and your have a life of good memories

“She’ll forever hold a spot within my soul”…

Good god, my girlfriend at 17… what the hell was she doing with me? So hot it was unreal.

It boggles my mind that there are people who were born in the 90s who are now old enough to drink in the UK.

The country version of Kid Rock is a bit scarier than the meathead-rock version. Will he ever wash?

What’s that? Kid Rock was in the video? What were you looking at?!

zorn sabretooth:

Back in black I hit the sack I’ve been too long I’m glad to be back

The band is still around, even if the lead singer and a few other members died a while back. Kerching!

Kera foehunter:

wells here mine!!! this reminds me of home !! i had a 3 month Holiday one summer my dad took me there !!im ready to go back

poor girl, Willmark… she can’t afford real shorts. instead she has to wear scraps of material. shame.

as for me, this song always makes me feel young. My dad introduced me to Pink Floyd when I was in grade 5… 1995. and I well, just reminds me of a roadtrip my family went on… I listened to my Pink Floyd CASSETTE (holy crap!) on my walkman the whole time…

poor girl, Willmark... she can't afford real shorts. instead she has to wear scraps of material. shame.

You didn't know? You know who that blond chick is? Its Kera! She was in a Kid Rock Video who knew? She couldn't afford shorts since she spends all her money on warhammer.

Floyd huh? Nice I love Wish you were here one of their best. My other fav is The Day the Tigers broke Free Parts. I & II

I don’t know if I feel comfortable with you referring to my sister Kera as a “hot chick” Willmark… watch your mouth.

I thought WH was a lot cheaper in 1989… I mean I wouldn’t know, I was 5… :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah its like a "where’s Waldo sighting’ since we already saw her in the Men without Hats video and Cotton Eyed Joe video riding the mechanical bull, she’s in a bunch of videos I tell ya!

At 30 seconds I saw her!

Kera foehunter:

Moral of the story you turn around and wonder where it went...

"Woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain?Tt it funny how the night moves
When you just don?Tt seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in..."

This song will FOREVER remind of all the good times gone and those to come…

X-porter- Nice one! How about:

Stood there boldly

Sweatin in the sun

Felt like a million

Felt like number one

The height of summer

Id never felt that strong

Like a rock

I was eighteen

Didnt have a care

Working for peanuts

Not a dime to spare

But I was lean and

Solid everywhere

Like a rock

My hands were steady

My eyes were clear and bright

My walk had purpose

My steps were quick and light

And I held firmly

To what I felt was right

Like a rock

Like a rock, I was strong as I could be

Like a rock, nothin ever got to me

Like a rock, I was something to see

Like a rock

And I stood arrow straight

Unencumbered by the weight

Of all these hustlers and their schemes

I stood proud, I stood tall

High above it all

I still believed in my dreams

Twenty years now

Whered they go?

Twenty years

I dont know

Sit and I wonder sometimes

Where theyve gone

Kera foehunter:

ha ha there both from the motor city!!!
