Tarrakk Blackhand:
Ok…after review of my “Botched” army list thread…I’ve come up with a few simple 500 point combinations that might be better for smaller games. These include my modified BFSP figures as well as a few (Maybe 5) additional figures not from BFSP. I also added some pics so you could see what the armies would look like, figure wise.

Kera foehunter:
it look like a good list i like op 2 . you can’t lose with girlS in the list !!500 point at least it will be a simple fast game!!
Tarrakk Blackhand:
ThanX Kera! Soon i’ll sit down ans write a 1000 point list.
Kera foehunter:
well your need pirates !!!
Swissdictator:
My only complaint is you seem to be character heavy. In 500 points they’re huge point sinks. I’d recommend a max of two characters at that point level.
Also… never underestimate a block of warriors at this point level, they can be gold. Even a smaller one.
Blunderbuss can be nasty at this level, so they’d be good.
A Death rocket would be a good choice, that’s for sure.
Thommy H:
Could you explain how your army selection works at 500 points? I’m assuming you’re using the “less than 2,000 points” category (since most of your builds feature three Heroes…), in which case you need at least two Core units, and they both have to be Chaos Dwarfs, because Hobgoblins don’t count towards your minimum compulsory Core.
Tarrakk Blackhand:
I was wondering how Hobgoblins actually fit in myself. Could you revise a list for me Thommy?
Actually, does this mean I have to have a minumum core of 2 CD’s and then I can have an extra Hobbo unit?
Thommy H:
Yeah, your minimum Core need to be Chaos Dwarf units. You can have as many Hobgoblins as you like, but any compulsory Core units need to be Chaos Dwarfs - and remember, you need at least two Core.
For 500 points, I’d go with:
Chaos Dwarf Hero with heavy armour and shield.
10 Chaos Dwarfs with hand weapon and shield.
10 Chaos Dwarfs with blunderbusses.
15 Hobgoblins with bows.
1 Death Rocket.
Depending on what command you give your units, you’ll have spare points for magic items (Black Hammer of Hashut or the Armour of Gazrakh are the way to go here).
w3rm:
I say
Chaos Dwarf Hero With GW and Heavy Armour- 72
10 Chaos Dwarf Warriors with musician and standard- 110
10 Chaos Dwarf Blunderbussiers with Musician and standard - 140
16 hobgoblins with shields- 48
16 hobgoblins with shields- 48
Death Rocket- 80
Total- 498
Gives you some slaves to be meat shields or combat units and the dwarfs to mop up whatevers left after the death rocket pounds em!
Tarrakk Blackhand:
ThanX for the help guys! Really appreciate it…and the rules “Clear-up” from Thommy H.
I can see that 500 is a bit limited in what you can take for points though. Some of the more “Kool” units get left behind beause they don’t fit and some of the concepts I have don’t quite work either…like a fast movement and shooting type unit UNLESS I bump up the points value to 1000 or more.
Anyway, it’s 12:pm and I’m tired!
Tarrakk Blackhand:

Thommy H:
A number of your builds still aren’t legal, Tarrakk…
Tarrakk Blackhand:
Which ones…and what did I do wrong?
Thommy H:
#2 only has one Core unit. The others are actually fine - I think I read them wrong. Tarrakk, you may want to think about this whole business a slightly different way. For one thing, including pictures is kind of annoying for reading these! Settle on a format for presenting your lists too.
I’m not 100% on your Warhammer background - I seem to remember you saying you’re relatively new to the game? I may be wrong about that. But anyway, you might find it best to just make a legal army from what you have for now. At 500 points, you don’t exactly have a lot of options, so if you make a kind of “master list” of everything, you can just select units for battles from that. You’re not going to really find any “optimal builds” at such low points values.
Tarrakk Blackhand:
Yeah, I guess I’m a little new to Warhammer. I’ve been around the game for 2+ years, selling it from my hobby shop but our small town doesn’t have enough people to play continually for a long time.
So I’ve played some battles against my customers. I play Good Dwarfs and they’ve fought Tomb Kings, Wood Elves, Lizardmen, and Britonia. However, as far as CD’s, I haven’t played anyone with them yet. Therefore, as far as CD’s are concerned…they haven’t even touched the battlefield yet.
I did take The Academy course at GW and they showed us how to make army lists, but the CD’s are a bit different when it comes to Hobgoblins. So I appreciate the rules clarification there.
The reason why I did 500 points was for a starter. I listed what I had in another thread, but I don’t think people understood what I was getting at. Those were my figures from BFSP and the 3 extra metal figures and 2 extra plastic miners. (The reason for the pictures) I think I have enough figures for 1500 Points, maybe 2000, and I can get more as the need arises.
Soon I’ll start a new thread with 1000 points and it won’t have the benifit of the pictures. I just have to sit down and figure it out. too bad the Wiki isn’t online as it had some great ideas for the main army I’d be facing…Wood Elves.
