So yeah, just started modelling them and here’s my first. Posting a few pics (sorry about that quality, is from my phone) of it still all greened up. Will post painted pics later too
Went for the whole death mask/ braided hair look. Considering adding armour but that depends on if I’m going to end up using him as an impromptu mage or a slave driver for the rabble. If he was I could use his right arm’s “amulet” as some sort of magical control over the rabble. What do you think?
Attached are photos of the basic paint colour scheme I want to go with. Please be easy on me as this is my first proper CD model. I’m much more comfortable converting than painting. Also included a photo of the big hat. Let me know if it looks good enough to make mould of/replicate
Cheers Might have him holding a “disciplined” slave of the group he’s currently selling to the CDs. Was thinking maybe a severed head with a bit of gristle dangling from it and the rest of the body on the group. If possible the surrounding slaves would be looking back in horror. :hat This would fit in with the fluff about the OK trading with them for leadbelchers. I’d like to show off the fact that they trade, as well as showing that big hatted guys can be brutal.
Doesn’t show well in the photos, but the big hat and death mask are connected via brass banding on the “barrel” part of the hat. As I’ve said, much better at modelling than painting! Might ask my partner (collects beastmen) if she could paint it for me, she paints a real treat
Anyhow, off today to my (not so local) secondhand shop as I’ve called and they apparently have some old 3rd and 4th edition lammasu, taurus, hobbos and CDs in stock, even a tenderizer! Hope to get there in time.
Have to imageshack the images as they’re too big, but thought I’d share my hobbo archer regiment with you (yes, I know that one of them is a swordsman but it’s hard to find old models so it’s a filler :p) Painted these a while back so they don’t neccesarily fit with my colour scheme.
At the shops today picked up the 4th edition army book, pretty stoked about it. Also got a vintage dwarf bolt thrower ('98) which I’ll make into a hobbo spear chukka.
Might have Chaos dwarves piloting it. Is that okay, or is it a menial task below them?
Also today I bought a defiler and a penitent SOB engine. Will convert them over time into a juggernaught. Will let you know how that goes. Also, what base size do juggernaughts take?
a pleasure, Sir :hat off… excellent old ed. finds (envious of the lammasu a bit) sounds like my sort of shop. The gobbos look good and for the banner, well… I’ve never thumbed my nose at a cleanly freehanded fanged skull of any sort.

Thanks for the compliments I try to go for a realistic sort of style rather than making it cartoony.
Am going to paint my bighats tonight as per the codex i bought so I’ll upload those photos if they turn out alright
My partner’s best at painting out of us so if I make any impressive models she’ll deffo help and I’d probaly mess it up (if I rush myself I always mess it up).

I simply meant that I liked the banner! :) this forum has some great older minis I've come to notice, including these archers. ;)
Edit: Also, with the CD crew on bolt throwers... it is really up to you and since WMs aren't subject to animosity it makes sense there too.
I'm not sure about the juggernaut's base but what is a screaming bell mounted on? I'd say that one.
Ah, that explains thanks dude. Yeah, I love this site to be honest, lurked around it for a while before joining. Used to be part of OgreStronghold but the people here are a lot more supportive. Is a great atmosphere.
Ah, so a chariot base then Will do that. Started my kollosus today, very exited about it. Will have a sorceror mounted on it and a few blunders on the side platforms I’m moddeling.
I’m thinking I might have CD crew on the 'throwers as really, who can trust a hobbo to aim haha :hat
Ah… will have to order one in in that case. On a tangent, would a skaven death spinner be a good start for a tenderizer converison? I reckon it could be pulled off
