So my desk lamp has just died and it can be fixed, so im looking to buy a new. I was wondering what other people used. Ive seen a few desk lamps with magnifiers build into anyone ever used one .

My wife and I each have an Ottlite at our respective ends of the craft table:

… and I’ve been thinking we need a couple more. They beat the pants off all of our other lights.

If I had to buy a lamp for my painting table, I would buy an Ott-Lite. The model I personally like is :

But I am also a fan of “Vintage” and love my vintage desk lamp.

@ yodrin I dare not speak the murders name!!.
My farther took pity on me and gave me one of these much to my girlfriends delight as my sulking was driving her nuts.
Abecedar:
I just use a couple of differently positioned lamps. one over the left shoulder and a basic extendable desk lamp on the table in front of me and either wear my reading glasses or a magnifying head piece like a jewelers head piece. Have tried those adjustable lamps and they do adjust position quite well. As to using the magnifier part, well they magnify very well if you are just looking at things. But I found that when painting it was not good for me. When painting and you hold the model in one position it will move minutely and meanwhile your head on the other side of the magnifying glass moves minutely as you are trying to focus on it and it was hard work and I just found I couldn’t do it for very long at all.

I use one basic Ikea (I think) extendable desk lamp, and there’s another one in the house, should i need to borrow it.
I try to keep my desk arrangement as simple as possible, as i already have a lot of natural light coming through my door.
Yodrin:
Btw, I also use an Ikea cheep model;)
