What Yodrin said. You can add lava in small pools and cracks, the effect is going to be more “realistic” (I don’t think it’s feasible for any living being to walk on a surface seething with lava )…
That said the Hobbos came out great. One minor critic (minor) could be that Goblin heads are a tad too big for the clanrats’ bodies. If you want to build more in the future you can try Gretchin heads, characterful and (fairly) cheap! Otherwise check these out.
Not too shabby at all. I like the slight big headedness, it gives them the hunchbacked effect. The bases do need a re-think, maybe a real good darkening wash and then a rusty coloured highlight before making some lava hotspots?. Oh and check them for moldlines especially across the heads.
I just made another 20 (Had 20 spare goblin heads - I will try gretchin heads with plague monks bodies and bows next ).
I have decided to make the bases with red gravel and the rocks I have all ready made. The lava project became too big for me (I think ), when I saw how it is actually done.
I’ve done something similar, only differences are that I used the Night gobbos heads and the Skaven Slave box, but the concept (and the minis) are almost identical!!
