[Archive] My MPC WW1 German Infantry Collection and Video

Tarrakk Blackhand:

Hi everyone!

Here’s a few pictures of my WW1 German Infantry models from MPC.

I have owned these guys since 1985, but have never had the chance to finish painting them…until now.

I have 3 boxes of 48 troops for a combined total of 144 men. However, I lost 4 pieces in the 26 years of owning them, so there is 140 pieces left. the missing parts are the 2 machine gun crewmen, 1 maxim machine gun and one dead guy. Not too bad.

A German A7V tank patrols the village.

This is one of the many wooden tanks my Dad and I built in 1985 for this army.

We now know that the shape of this tank isn’t accurate, but at the time, we only had a few front view pictures from some library books to go on. Now with the vast ammount of info on the webs, I realize that the front of the tank should look like the back of the tank.

Here’s a quick stop-motin film I made of them at 3:00 AM.

G.2:

I really like the A7V. It is in my top 3 favourite tanks of all time. Even with the inaccuracies of this model it still looks good.

Thanks for sharing your stuff.

Tarrakk Blackhand:

This is the A7V…“B” …yeah, that’s right! The “B” version!

ThanX for the comments G.2. Doesn’t Australia actually have an authentic A7V in it’s military museam?

I am thinking of doing a stop-motion recreation of the first tank battle…3 A7V’s VS 3 British Tanks…I just need another A7V model. Perhaps my Dad can make me another one…a correct one this time.

Bassman:

Wow, awesome army. I love your German tank. You can even model some captured British tanks

Tarrakk Blackhand:

I have some of those. My Dad and I made 8 tanks back in the day - 5 British ones, 2 German A7V’s and 1 French tank. Pics coming soon!

Tarrakk Blackhand:

(It’s been a few days…so here’s a little update:)

Just took a few new pictures of these guys in action with the tank on the “battlefield”.

The tank and some men advance up to the front lines. The men use the tank as shelter from enemy bullets.

The Germans caputred and repainted a British Mark V Tank.

This German Tank and soldiers try and hold the line against the onslought of Allied tanks and men.

The Machine gun nests and riflemen brace for the enemy.

The German medics gather up the dead and wounded.

Bassman:

Lovely tanks and amazing showcase. The narration is great

cornixt:

Those are some great scenery, did you make them? Very characterful.

Tarrakk Blackhand:

The buildings are from old Pola Kits I found at one of my wholesallers. I bought them for myself, of course! Sadly, there were a few others, but when I came back to get those ones, the wholesaller had sold them all.

Old German Villa models are so hard to find in Canada.

The other nice part about them was that the fancy walls were stickers and you just stuck them to the building walls.
