[Archive] Nasty Skulkers in place of Hobgoblins

Heavygear:

In the spirit of the old hobgoblin back stabbas, check out the war scroll for the Nasty Skulkers in the O&G war scrolls on the GW website.

Purely coincidence, I converted 40 of my “Hobgobbos” from night goblins and used the skaven plague monk arms with the knives. Each is armed with two long sharp fighting knives. The rules are very appropriate to simulate hobgoblin backstabbers.

Thommy H:

Yes, this was remarked upon when they were first released near the beginning of 8th Edition. Unfortunately they work like Fanatics and have to be hidden in Goblin units; they aren’t a unit in their own right. The models make good Hobgoblins though, but it might be a bit pricey to have a whole unit of them!

Rhimlock:

In AoS you can take Nasty Skulkers as their own unit. You just have the option to hide them in a Goblin-unit.
So there is nothing from taking those 40 converted Hobgobblins as a unit of Nasty Skulers and put them on the table right from the start.

I think those rules fit quite nicely for those Backstabbas.
(2 Attacks 5+/5+ is nothing to be afraid of, the mortal wound on 6+ is nice)

Thommy H:

Oh yeah, so you can. Fair enough then.
