[Archive] New Forge World Tau Battlesuit!

Goltor Lintrepide:

Here something new from Forge World : http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/News/Games_Day_Preview_One.html

What do you think?

Drakkan:

It’s a nice model, very well sculpted by the looks of things, though not to my taste. I like my tau with smooth, organic lines, like their Shas’O R’myr, which I use as my HQ, the Hammerhead, the grunt’s helmets, etc. These pointy square tau displease me! :stuck_out_tongue:

I think maybe I try to keep away from the gundam look as much as I can, and that’s headed a little too far in that direction. That said, it is a very well made model, and clearly a lot of effort and love has gone into the design of these new guys, which is impressive whatever the army.

Vogon:

Looks good but again not my personal cup of tea.

It’ll be interesting to see what other preview models they have at games day and if they have any WFB or even Chaos Dwarf stuff coming up.

As far as I can tell there’s still no sign of the next WFB book as all resources seem to be diverted to 40K and Heresy.

Cheers

so sad :(

JMR:

…but… where do I put my Space Marine? There’s no Space Marine in that picture!?

Fuggit Khan:

It’s nicely done…but it’s another FW example of them ‘borrowing’ idea’s from other peoples work. This is what your FW dinner plate would look like after going through a Japanese Anime buffet line. I see parts taken (copied) from Gundam, Macross, Dougram and Votoms.

They made quite the Anime Frankenstein buffet plate…again, it looks nice…though I would wager that like most of the Forge World stuff most of the parts will not fit well and lots of moldings will be warped.

Nicodemus:

I mistakenly assumed that “Tau” was someone’s abbreviation for “Taurus” and I came here all excited to see what this battlesuit was going to look like.

Shows what kind of one-track mind I have. Queue the sad trombone.

Grimstonefire:

Off topic, but I notice Andy Hoare has joined the FW writing team.

So, presuming Alan Bligh is stuck doing Heresy for a while we might be able to see a warhammer book or two come out.

Talima is writing the Blackfire warhammer one.

A meh to the Tau for me. Not really interested but looks well sculpted.
