Why would they go through the trouble of posting new pictures of Chaos Dwarf Infernal Guard Command, and fireglaives, PAINTED! if they were going away!

Good catch. … intriguing.
Dînadan:
Odd seeing green bases in this day and age.
George_van_Horst:
Sorry to say but… if you read “The Lord of End of Times” book your hopes will be crushed…
cornixt:
Everyone dies in that book. The fact that CDs were acknowledged as still being around in the final days is more encouraging.

Grimgor and Golgfag not feel the same ... ;P
Edit: Ok, I'm not going to be so cruel :hat off
From The Lord of the End Times
The big ogre had proven more useful than most of his greedy kin - he was as smart as any runt, and dead sneaky when he needed to be. It had been Golgfag who had got the gates of Zharr Naggrund open, so Grimgor's lads could barrel in. The ogre had held the great iron gates open, despite having half a dozen of stunty crossbow bolts in him. He and Grimgor had fought side by side and back to back up the steps of the black ziggurat, and had toppled the massive statue of the stunties' bull-god, alongside Borgut Facebeater and Wurrzag.
My only question is... CROSSBOW BOLTS???

Also, I'm surprised a single Ogre could hold open the city gates; I'd have thought they'd been more like the Black Gate of Mordor than a regular little castle gate. :~

As Lucy Lawless said in The Simpsons: "Well, whenever you notice something like that, a wizard did it"
Parish:
Maybe to make them sell and get rid of the entire range as soon as possible

Bah, as if those Ogre savages and dim witted shaman of the Greenskins could overcome the sorcerous might of our Daemonsmiths and Prophets :|
;P
sam585:
Zharr Nagrund ? The Black Fortress.
Legion of Azgorh are exclusively an army of that fortress. So if they did not get destroyed then they are still around in my book. Likely I would expect Drazhoath The Ashen to let Zharr Nagrund get destroyed thus leaving him as the only guy left. So we king now.
Additionally, all your big hats are dead dead dead, but masks and helmets are still in.
Bloodbeard:
And no one knows what will happen in 9th.
Might be a new setting placed in an unkown future after the end of the world or it might take place in a ravaged old world. Might be they make a completely new setting.
The End Times is the ending to a very static story that’s 30 years old. And it’s okay Zharr-Naggrund is destoryed.
Come 9th the FW CD might be survivors who fled to the old world or if Warhammer is a new setting the models might be reused to some completely new fluff.
But we know nothing about the whole “squatted” business, And squatted means “removed from canon and unusable miniatures”. FW won’t do that.
Aromat:
Painted models will sell faster
gIL^:
The fluff is discouraging, The way GW works is to sell the idea of badassery. If your army is involved in death it’s because they are not the focus.
The fact that one ogre opened the gates is just sad.
But hey as a member of the Bad times at least we have mini’s now.
Doombeard:
I wouldn’t read too much into it, in the early days they would just use any old pic that a customer sent in if they thought it was good enough to show. Maybe they just liked the pic, it is a pretty sweet paint job.
cornixt:
Probably just the collection of someone in the studio.
wallacer:
GW don’t care about Chaos Dwarfs. There is no chance they’ll do anything for us in 9th edition.

+1
I know its sounds defeatist but it is the reality of the situation
sam585:
So, we were left out of end time army lists, and that is why it is considered that they don’t care about us? When Tamurkhan came out and only 3 armies were given rules, new units, and models, did that point to those other armies simply not being cared about? Do they not care about us cause we all got killed? If so they don’t care about Warhammer fantasy in its entirety (which is quite possibly true).
I have seen no information that explicitly stated that we are getting no care, in fact, I feel that we got more attention in 8th ed+tamurkhan than we did in the last ten years. We were featured in the seige where we were blowing stuff up, K’daiis and Sorcerers were mentioned in the glottkin, AND our capitol city was destroyed in detail, by some pretty big characters and not just some blip in the time line where it goes “Orcs destroy Zharr Nagrund during migration”. I feel that in itself is significant.
Now if we had no mention whatsoever. Then yes. But if GW writers actually went through the trouble to acknowledge and take the time to write out what we did in the end times then that means they care. Chaos Dwarfs are just in an odd spot where we do not have very well developed major characters who could have contributed to the end times (not counting characters mentioned in Tamurkhan, since all of those characters introduced never made it out of that book lore wise) due to us falling out of popularity a few editions ago.
