The plague riders are less expensive than the Plague Toads, gladly!! From the side:
Plaguebearers that can be used in conjunction with the recently-released Plague Toads Set to create a deadly unit of Daemonic cavalry, the fell Pox Leapers. Rules and background for these models can be found in the forthcoming Throne of Chaos book.
I might have to get the plaugeriders. I could use them to make a full Nurgle daemon army using all the gods’ troops. In this case I will use the plagueiders to count as bloodcrushers. That way I can also use army book rules, and not worry about how people and events receive the warhammer forge rules.
I am Have to admit that the nurglish stuff excite me more that the CDTGWWSA (Chaos-Dwarfs-that-GW-won’t-speak-about) and that rot beast would look cool with a pair of giant bat wings and a Chaos Dwarf Tyrant on top. Sadly it won’t be out for GH14
It would be tempting to put some hobgoblins on those toads… But I think I prefer the plague bearers.
Decent models for a reasonable price (compared to over priced metals). I’m impressed so far.
Though it does still annoy me a bit when I read people clamouring on warseer for the nurgle champ with great weapon when the one I did is much better… Oh well.
Eh…they’re okay, I guess. Maybe I’m just not that into Nurgle (my loyalty to Chaos gets as far as Khorne and then just hangs around where all the killing is) but they always seem kind of an easy option when it comes to sculpting. You don’t need to worry about anatomy or smooth surfaces, you can just shove lumps of green stuff on an armature and say they’re tumours. A Nurgle figure has to be really awesome to impress me, and these aren’t.
Have to agree with Thommy here. Nurgle is such an easy god to follow - converting consists of taking just about anything and adding a bit of greenstuff to it in a haphazard fashion. Even the pro-sculpts end up looking rather ordinary.
Hmm, well yes - everybody can make a miniature look nurgle-ish with a bit of green stuff - but this is surely not an ordinary sculpt - think I’ll have to ask Mr. Cornixt and Mr. ThommyH to have second look:
Ordinary??? Well, if that’s the case nothing can impress you, I guess - but I am surely impressed by the quality of this beast - and don’t - in any way - find it ordinary. Know it’s a matter of taste - but ordinary?? Would like to see you guys pull something like this off
The head of that giant rat is really good, the body is oddly posed though. A bit of armour on it would have gone a long way rather than the usual holes-in-the-skin-and-entrails look. Hate the rider, the plaguebearers are the same as before, the toads are rather fun though so I like them.

if i do use the toad riders rules for something it will be for hobgoblins ridding yaks
You don't have to be a chef to know whether a restaurant is any good.
Thommy H
No, but it helps knowing about food - and tried to cook a meal yourself :D And just because you think McDonnals taste good - it certainly don't make it a good restaurant.
- and don't forget it wasn't me that said that every one could do a nurgle miniature from a bulp of green stuff ;) And this is above ordinary sculpting skills. That beast takes a hell of a lot skills to do right - and Mark did a very good job - weather you like him/his sculpt or not.
