Firstly the design of the model, there are ways to do nurgle esque armour that doesn’t just mean leaving it blank and sticking a sculpting tool to make a hole in the middle.
Secondly in execution, of the legs and arms.
The beast however is a different matter, this would be hard to improve on I think, maybe an armour plate here and there.
I am going to buy this at some point down the line and will be happy to sell the rider.
And this is above ordinary sculpting skills. That beast takes a hell of a lot skills to do right - and Mark did a very good job - weather you like him/his sculpt or not.

I can appreciate it takes skills, even if I'm not a fan of the result. Take a street mime for example; very difficult to do well, but almost no one enjoys watching one.
No, but it helps knowing about food - and tried to cook a meal yourself

Does it? I can cook, theoretically, but I almost never do because I'm fortunate to live with someone who likes cooking a lot. But I still know a good restaurant when I go to one. By the same token, I know what good wine tastes like without having any experience with vineyards, I enjoy good music while having no musical talent whatsoever and I can recognise a good movie despite never having operated a camera in any meaningful sense. You don't have to be able to do something to express an opinion. "I'd like to see you do any better!" is not an argument.
But yes, it does all come down to taste. I don't like these figures, particularly. I probably couldn't make better ones, but I'm still allowed to not like them.
Over on warseer some received their Kazyk models today, 3 weeks early.
Just thought I'd mention it here incase anyone is ordering it.

That's very weird, considering they only went up for pre-order this week... did those warseer people actually post pictures of the models? If they did they must have an inside track with FW/WF, as the mail; service system can't be that fast unless they live next door :P
Would like to see you guys pull something like this off
I reckon I could do this one to a similar standard. Usually when I look at FW stuff, there’s a lot that is still beyond me. The CD engines and the Toad Dragon for example still make me go, “How the hell…”
Nurgle is such an easy god to follow - converting consists of taking just about anything and adding a bit of greenstuff to it in a haphazard fashion. Even the pro-sculpts end up looking rather ordinary.
I’ve made champions of all 4 gods, and it is kinda true. Nurgle is easy to do averagely, but very difficult to do well imo. There really are very few good Nurgle models, or even good Nurgle images for that matter.

They have now.
Insanely huge pics, which I think only warseer members could view (as an attachment), but I'll link anyway

Its' a shame you have to look at pictures that are enormous to figure out where his face is... :|
The rider is attached to the beast, but being a nurgle creature it should be easy to cut him off and patch it up.

Works for me. Though I *am* a Warseer member, not logged in though, that I know.
Funnily Firefox shows the whole picture (so zoomed out) when I click he attachment, only if I click on the image does it "zoom in" (to original size).
I really like the look of the trolls, and the ogres are good as well. But the price kills me. I would be willing to pay these kinds of prices for Chaos Dwarf stuff, but that’s about it. If I really want Nurgle-themed guys I’ll modify some ogres or trolls I already have I guess.
WF newsletter #3 was sent out today - and again not a single word about Chaos Dwarfs (I’m starting to think that Rick P. took those pages with him when he left :D) - but it gave preview of a Empire Champion - Theodore Bruckner on Reaper and on Foot.
Theodore Bruckner is a giant of a man, the serving Judicial Champion of Nuln and Countess Emmanuelle?Ts Headsman. Wielding the ancient sword ‘Liarsbane’, Bruckner will often take to the field of battle alongside the Iron Companies of Nuln, mounted on the fearsome Demigryph, Reaper, which is perhaps the largest of its kind.
Full resin set containing this mighty champion both mounted on his fell Demigryph and on foot. Four different head options are included: two different variations of both a helmeted and bare head, providing a wealth of modelling options. Models designed by Kev White. Experimental rules for Theodore Bruckner are available to download here.
In all honesty Theodore Bruckner is not all that good, and I think he is over priced because his lance and special rules are pretty weak, he is a Lord choice and cannot be the general. On saying that his sword is pretty cool. But I understand that these rules are deemed ‘experimental.’ Although I can still see people cracking it at others using him cause he is a special character.
