And yes …? Excellent sculpts and love detailing - but the overall design ? - not so sure!

wallacer
what is that? some kind of lamassu?

like the tomb guards

wallacer:

Well that's...different...

Thommy H
Yeah, it is.
I honestly still haven't made up my mind whether I like them or not.

Maybe they'll grow on me....

wallacer:

It's the new Sphinx.

warh:

btw people should get there TK skeletons now before GW put’s them in 10 man boxes and makes them as expensive as new models

cornixt:

I’m left with a bit of WTF?!

I expected a couple of new units, it looks like the Bone Giant and tomb Scorpions are gone now (or at leats not present in any pics), and that giant Tomb King centaur thing is just nuts.

Thommy H:

Yeah, it is.

Yeah. I like the Warsphinx, and the versatility of it. Maybe it's just because I'm fiddling with my Daemonic Engine rules right now, but the whole concept appeals to me at the moment.

I'm not at all sold on the Necropolis Knights though. They just look like they're surfing. On the other hand, I like the Sepulchral Stalkers - I assume they're from the same kit? This one kit for two choices thing GW have going on right now is actually pretty cool.

Kered:

I really like them particularly the sphinx, it looks like it has a lot of extras.

Glimpse the Void:

cornixt
Yup. I tried really hard not to hate these upon first glance. I just don't like most of them. I dont' find them attractive, nor do they make sense to me. I don't see where they fit much of what we know about tombkings or a much connection to egyption mythology.

I will qualify this rant, by saying that I love tombkings. I think those Stalkers are awesome, but they look stupid with dudes on top. The tomb guard look alright, but I think the old metal ones feel more like elite, head choppy infantry to me. These just look like fancy skeletons with big sticks. I don't care for the sphinx or stegadon/arakarok wanna be either.

Perhaps it will grow on me in time, as the Abomination did....

Pyro Stick:

Some pretty nice stuff in there, although i think the old Tomb Guard are much better. Dont think ill be picking up the bigger models but i might look into one or two stalkers and necropolis knights. Hope theres a few new cool characters since i didnt really like the Tomb King lords (or liche priests now that i think about it) from the last book.

Kered:

I agree about the tome guard, I might latter pick up the sphinx the make a lamassu.

Tarrakk Blackhand:

Pretty damn big stuff there!

I’d buy some to build them up, that’s for sure!

Baggronor:

:o I love the Sphinx. Would make an epic Lammassu conversion too…

Ishkur Cinderhat:

Well… phew. I have waited years for this moment, so while I’m extremely glad to see all the new toys and the huge monsters, I’m also quite disappointed to see that the standard rank’n’file of the tomb kings army (skeleton infantry, archers and chariots) are the same old outdated models that we have had so far. Meh.

And that ridiculous Tomb King model? They got to be kidding me…

At least the tomb guard unit looks really nifty now. I feel a bit sorry for those people who use the old models, since the new ones totally differ in style and very probably will not match up nicely with the old ones.

Da Crusha:

looks pretty cool. Im glad they are finally getting their new rules. the sphinx looks like a beast in combat.

Tarrakk Blackhand:

I wonder what the new game dynamic will be for them? Fast speed? Fast combat?

G.2:

Wow! The quality of the minis looks great. They do look impressive and it reminds me a lot of certain ‘egyptian-mummy-scropion-esque’ movies that were on our Movie screens a few years ago. Personally they are not my taste of army, but I am impressed at the whole lot, and I would certainly like to see an army like this on a games table.
