[Archive] Norba Miniatures

Falter:

They just released these today, and I felt the need to share em with you lot.

I allready ordered mine

Kamphre:

They look really good, I like them !

Let’s get some slaves for the info !

Bloodbeard:

A lot better than the previous models they released. Very ForgeWorld in their look.

And prices at 1,2 EUR pr. model is really good! 28 EUR for a 20 model regiment incl. command group.

Bloodbeard
Agreed :)

Malorndk:

I feel like they are straight up stealing the forgeworld design, but it doesn’t really bother me much due to decent pricing range.

Malorndk
Agreed and agreed. That position and armor is very similar. The standard bearer's helmet is almost exactly FW.

Zaramuskharaz:

They look great.

I do agree, they have a very evident ‘Infernal Guard’ look, only missed opportunity I see there is the lack of Great Weapons for WFB/9th Age/KoW.

Zaramuskharaz
Actually, when I first looked at those fireglaives I thought they were double handed axes. You can easily close the mouth of the gun with green stuff and use the models as double handed weapons.

BABIS:

Very forgeworldesque!

Skink
True enough. I actually had the same impression until I saw the stock at the bottom of the fireglaive! :)

Fuggit Khan:

They clearly copied the FW miniatures, including the same incredibly boring poses.

I wonder how long before GW/FW sue them?

Abecedar:

Much the same opinion from me. Are they multi-part as well I wonder or one pice casts

Roark:

Ooh, nice. I really dig the helmets and shields.

Willmark:

Really like the look of these guys great stuff. Very well done.

Admiral:

Quite nice, but virtual carbon copies of FW. There are a few original details in there, but it would have been much better if Norba Miniatures went for their own look instead. Their previous CDs, though incomplete in their details, aimed in the right direction (although the lord is neat enough).

The command group looks like this:

There’s also this new Lord of Fire, which looks splendid and isn’t just a copy exercise. Great touch with the god horns on the hat, skull mask and flames crackling up form out of cracks in the ground! More of this kind of thing. :cheers

Forgefire:

That Lord of fire looks great! :open_mouth:

Bloodbeard:

The guy with the skullmask would make an easy conversion into an 8th edition Lore of Undeath or Lore of Death sorcerer prophet.

Falter:

I received my order of 30 of these guys recently to use as immortals in my infernal dwarf army. Took a few weeks which is nothing special with Spanish companies as I have noticed ;p

They come in ziplock bags in 10s with an additional smaller ziplock containing shields and weapons.

Ive noticed 10 different heads excluding the command group. However they seems to be thrown in randomly as I have a single copy of some and multiples of others. Nothing to alarming as they all look alike but worth noting anyway.

I assembled one in a hurry because Ive been stretched for time recently. Its just a matter of gluing the hands on the arms. Can be a bit of a pain tbh, especially the weapon hand.

some compare shots

Forgeworld and GW

Russian alternative

Mantic

GW human sized models

MoM miniatures human and avatars of war dwarf

Overall the models are OK, moldlines are low and easily removed. Weapons are a bit annoying to attach. And they stand a little to tall for my taste, especially next to the old GW big hat which my army is mostly made up of.

Furious241:

Thanks for posting - they look at lot better in their promo pics, and they are indeed super tall.

They also seem a bit grubby, to be honest…

I am currently looking at placing an order for some of these, is there any chance that you re upload some of those comparison shots? Especially interested in the Big Hat and Human Comparison shots if you can find them?
