I'm guessing August will probably be focused mainly on a 40k release? Anything else rumoured for that time?
I know there are some rumours of grey knights being worked on, but I don't know if they're years away.
Between the rulebook and WH box release you'd think it would be fantasy light for a month.
Grimstonefire
I think August will come down to the timing of the BRB release. For example, if it gets released in early July then there is a good chance of something getting slotted in. But if its a mid-late July release the i would bet that 2nd wave releases will slide into August and we have a summer of fantasy with a back to school release of the new box in early September.
It could also be another LOTR release since the list as it appears right now only has 1 release this year....
Thanks to some sneaky hints posted by Harry I’ve been able to update this to put Ogres in May.
The next known warhammer army rumoured after that is Tomb Kings, so everyone keep a close eye on the rumours for when that will be. If it’s early 2011 it will be interesting to see if they release any other warhammer army next year…
I doubt they’d do Ogres first, it’d probablly be one or both of the starter box armies getting updates before them.
Is 8th edition really confirmed to be Orcs… AGAIN?? how overdone…
My dream would be to see them release a new army via the starter box set… Like what they did with 40k when they released dark eldar for the first time in the starter box.
They could do this with CHAOS DWARFS!

But Greenskins are a nice simple ‘baddie’ army, they’re also easy to paint and model, and have a nice fat range to flog. Likewise they’ll go for a simpler ‘goodie’ army like dwarfs or humans. Also, they’re aiming the starter sets at beginers remember, and it wouldn’t be overdone for them. Vets like us already have armies - we can just buy the
April - Dark Elves/ Daemons wave
May - Ogre Kingdoms
June - Dark Elves/ Daemons wave
Grimstonefire
Hmm! Think Ogers are 'delayed' a bit.
From Incoming!
More Orcs & Goblins coming in May
Orcs & Goblins are the scourge of the Warhammer world, an unending tide of ferocious raiders. For every greenskin Waaagh! defeated on the field of battle, another arises to trample a swathe of destruction across the land. Orcs and Goblins live to fight!
Orcs & Goblins are one of the most popular Warhammer armies and it's not difficult to see why: they can field warriors of all shapes and sizes from tiny Snotlings to Giants, and every shape of Orc and Squig in-between. They have access to a bizarre array of war machines and mounts, and some of the most entertaining special rules of any Warhammer army. And thanks to their inclusion in the great-value Battle for Skull Pass set, are often the first army a hobbyist collects.
So this May we're celebrating the Orcs & Goblins in all their choppa-wielding glory. We're under orders from the Big Boss to keep quiet about exactly what's going on so be sure to check out games-workshop.com in April when all will be revealed and pick up May's issue of White Dwarf for an in-depth look at all things green.
I’d imagine this has more to do with the business end of the game, so a model update for core models to bring them more in line with GW’s “less sprues per box” style models, at the expense of conversion opportunities and variety. Don’t get me wrong, the recent year of updated models are very nice, but you don’t get as much variety out of them as you do the old ones.
So Orcs (again) for the WHFB *th box set. What else? Who's the "good guy" ?? Dwarves(unlikely), Empire, Bretts, Elves ??
Anybody know?
BLOOD AXE
I bet Empire. They seem to be going back to basics with boxed sets now - it was Marines and Orks in the last 40K one, and Empire vs. Orcs in the classic Warhammer match-up.
Avian is betting (he is in a bet with Hastings on Warseer) that a new O&G book will be out before Feb 22 2011… He has also dropped hints of plastic savage Orcs and new monstrous unit and said the book is written by Jermery Vetock
The article in WD363 by Jervis confirms they are developing new? armies for 40K and warhammer .Yet there is no indication as to which, so the Rumour frenzy can begin :hat
...June - Dark Elves/ Daemons wave?
July - 8th Edition Warhammer Rules...
...December - Possibly Ogres and TK in these 4 months as well.
Grimstonefire
Firstl;y, DE wave? Not new book right? :S
Secondly, it doesn't feel like that long ago that the last warhammer rulebook came out. Like, doesn't seem that long at all?
And thirdly, ogres again? We all know we need either DoW or CDs more than we need a new ogre book... :P
