So i’m new to Chaos Dwarves and am in the planning stage of making then casting evil dwarf models to count as chaos dwarves (can’t really be called chaos dwarves because of copyright).
So far I am happy with my plans except i’m stuck on the playing side. As I play will be playing at a GW I will not be able to use the proper chaos dwarf rules. My only idea is to play them as a different army.
I was wondering does anyone else have this problem or any advice?
At the Rockford, IL GW store they’re more than happy to see me bring the Chaos Dwarfs and no questions are asked, and they’ll verify it is legitimate although dated.
So ask, and offer to bring a copy of the rules for the store if needed.
Besides, nothing says that you HAVE to play a current set of rules/games. It’s amusings eeing people walk in and play rogue trader 40k or space crusade or any of the other GW games from the past. it’s still GW stuff and shouldn’t have a problem with it. The RH rules like Swiss said should be fine and are still largely recognised as official and playable. So much flexibility in such a small list.
I’ve never had a problem using my own figures, even the ones that are entirely made my me. Other company’s figures are usually not allowed. My local club used to allow them on vet’s night gaming, but the new staffer is a gimp and probably wouldn’t.
I play the RH list at the GW store I go to and the players were asking me why I wasn’t using the Dwarfs of Chaos Indy GT list. I haven’t asked the manager at he store if I’m allowed to use them there or not.
I’m not worried about using my own sculpts, I Plan on them looking similar to the hellcannon crew so they won’t be out of place. If anyone complains I’m sure I will think of something to say.
I think I will have to give my local GW a visit just to see the staffs opinion. Maybe they will allow the RH list maybe i’ll have to play count as dwarves I don’t really care (although I would prefer the RH list) as long as I can use my chaos dwarves.
