Stumbled across these as I was looking throught the RAFM website, and thought some of them would make good hobgoblins.

Not a fan of the models TBH
G.2:
I like the giant bird mounts, but that is about it.
zobo1942:
I think there are some in there that could work.
I’m also a fan of the $8 catapult. RAFM Miniatures & Games: Orc Catapult
Zanko:
The catapult is quite good but the minis aren’t the best!
Once I owned the wolfriders but the quality isn’t the best - I mean the standard of sculpting and the poses!
There are many other companies with much better modellines like Vendel, Otherworld, Blood Moon Miniatures, Black Tree Design, Mirliton , etc, etc, etc …

zobo1942:
Well, I guess it must be nostalgia.
Some of these miniatures were the first I ever owned… nearly 25 years ago? Ghaaaaa - I feel really old! The RAFM ‘War Turtle’ was the first miniature I ever put a brush to. Still, I’m really tempted to pick up a few to mess around with - they’re quite inexpensive, and it could be fun taking that walk down memory lane!
Zanko:
I know, I know!
I still own the Dream Warriors, I like the Ork War Triceratops and the War Turtle is cool too! :hat off
… and hey dude - we are old! :cheers

RAFM Miniatures & Games: Chaos goblins (5)
Those i like, they remind me of the goblins from the Labrynth film.
Would still need a bit of conversion.
zobo1942:
I quite like a lot of the miniature shown. In the ‘Call of Cthulhu’ section, the ‘Servitor of the Outer Gods’ looks awesome! As I mentioned, I might place an order just to check a few things out.
I am really amazed by the prices, too - they seem really reasonable!
Tarrakk Blackhand:
Are they the same size as the Warhammer stuff? Do they glue together the same way too?
zobo1942:
I’m not too sure what the ‘true’ scale would be, as it would compare to other manufacturers. A lot of warhammer stuff seems a little oversized… which model were you looking at in particular?
Thommy H:
They’re the same scale. Everything is, unless it says otherwise. No one buys anything that isn’t 28mm.
zobo1942:
OK - the ‘scale’ is the same, but what I was trying to say was that some of their miniatures may be slightly smaller (or larger) then the GW equivalents - Goblins might be five ‘feet’ tall, not four ‘feet’ tall, for example.
Also, I just noticed that stuff is 20% off in the webstore until the 24th. That may have swayed me…
TwilightCo:
Wargames Factory have orcs in development that are very similar or 2nd edition GW hobgoblins. If you are not familiar with WGF I’d recommend them. Figures are an exceptional value and work pretty well with GW products. The big difference is that WGF figure are historic scale so things are a bit smaller.

I’ve looked at the wargames factory stuff, and it looks pretty good. I’m really looking forward to seeing their skeletons - they posted a picture of two on facebook. Great skulls!
I like the RAFM stuff mostly for nostalgic reasons… and that a lot of it seems really, really cheap.
