[Archive] Razanez's big hat blog (wip magma cannon)

Razanez:

Hello everybody and greetings from Finland, it’s good to be here! There has been many years since i have done anything with miniatyres… Until i got interested about Chaos dwarfs. Someday i got into this site and i cannot say how inspirated i was about the armies and conversions you’ve done. After a short paint/brush/glue- gathering i bought my first dwarfes and started conversing.

My goal at this time is to make 500pt “border patrol” army, for first. I’m not quite sure about the units i am goin’ to do, but making my own chaos dwarfes is more important than playing.

I’ll started with normal warriors with hand wapons, converted from regular dwarf warriors. I painted one for test.

As you can see, i do specially love the classical way the chaos dwarfes were. I tried to capture that feeling in that one i’ve painted, and, of course, old-school green base! And hats are MUST!

I’ll keep doin’ these warriors now on with passion, and try to keep this blog updated. So what do you think about these?

nitroglysarine:

Huzzah for the hats!!

Great first steps!

Tarrakk Blackhand:

This guy looks great! now you just need to get your hands on the old skool shield decals!

cornixt:

Very nicely done hat. Does he have a green beard?

Hashut’s Blessing:

Looking great! One thing they remind me of are the Flinstones’ bowling hats

As I said, looking good! Can always build a load of them and then create a border patrol list from the models that you’ve made anyway

Razanez:

Hello! It has been quite long time since i started with my dwarwes. Now i am on fire again!!

I got my first piece of instant mold, and copied those old chaos shields with it. Great stuff! I think they are much more chaotic that the previous round ones.

I made one hat from that skull-counter, it looks kinda rough  I think it looks better when painted. What do you think about the new hat?

Karring:

Maybe the skull-hat looks better if you “involve” it with a few of Green Stuff.

Amazing first CD! Why do yo not try to sculpt CD runes in next hats?

Regards…

Loki:

Great work with the green stuff, really like both of the hats keep up the good work

Great work dude!

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

Razanez:

Allright dudes, thanks for your comments! I left the skull-hat-idea, i’ll make the warrior-hats as the first ones.

Be prepared for Lammasu…

It is in very early progress, but imo looks cool, haha. Got inspired by this http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=884 .

Soon i’ll be doing some beard and hair, he looks pretty cruel now. He has pegasus-torso, ogre head and horns and cold-one claws.

Any advices for the riders legs? It seems to be pretty hard job!

And first regiment of warriors (12pcs) are almost done (converted)!

Razanez:

Lammasu in in progress, and i started to think about fireglaves. Today i made the first fast prototype.

What do you think, mainly about the weapon? Any suggestions how to make it more chaotic? Cheers!

Admiral:

That is one hell of a bayonet, son.

Razanez:

Allrighty, first fireglaive got paint on it. This is another test for color-scheme.

Main idea was to use black and bronze. A bit of red seemed to fit. How does it look?

Sherlocko:

Cool stuff. The skin almost blends in with all the blues though, but it is a cool colour scheme.

If you want a nifty trick it is to drill out the barrel for the gun. A small drill in the middle will make a whole lot of difference.

The beard sculping is also really nice. And can´t wait to see how that Lammasu will turn out, top notch!

Thanks a lot! Lammasu in on brake now, because i want to play with these as soon as possible. He is not very playable in small games. ;) I'll do the barrels as soon as i get my drill from the store!

CopperPot:

Very nice work mate love the conversions
