Henroth:
The Dwarfs to have the armours of Gromril (SA 4+), but the Chaos Dwarfs only to have simple heavy armours (SA 5+), is unjust, no?
The minimum is that the CD’s Heroes can to take better armours.
:hat off

Ancre:
I would say it is because we have an outdated list ! If we ever have an army book, we will probably see 4+ armours, like chaos armours.
Henroth:
No, I want to say armours common, no magic armours.
Thommy H:
It’s because the list is old. The Dwarf list that appeared in Ravening Hordes also lacks Gromril Armour (actually, it has it as a magic item, but it provides a 1+ save instead) and the Empire don’t have full plate or anything. The preponderance of 4+ save armour is a new thing for late 6th/7th Edition pretty much. If Chaos Dwarfs are ever redone, you can probably expect characters at least to have something equivalent as standard.
Henroth:
Ah, I undersand, thanks Thommy H.
Hrothgar Goldgreed:
Ravening Hordes features a Dwarf list? I wasn’t aware of that … I don’t have that one, though.
The 6th. edition and 7th. edition do future Gromril armour as an option, and I believe the Ravening Hordes lists were made inbetween that.
From a fluff kind of view, the Dwarfs have sticked to their traditional ways, have always done things more properly, etc. I don’t think it’d exactly fit if Chaos Dwarfs would get armour similiar to Gromril. After all, it was made out of meteoritical tissue, what else could the Chaos Dwarfs have? Chaos Dwarfs get the more dangerous, powerful kind of engineering (workin’ with daemons), Dwarfs get the solid one. Like the VC-TK thing with magic.
Or the list is just outdated.
Thommy H:
Ravening Hordes features a Dwarf list?Ravening Hordes features a list for every army (except Ogre Kingdoms, who hadn't been invented at that point). That's what Ravening Hordes was - a compendium of get-you-by lists for 6th Edition.
The 6th. edition and 7th. edition do future Gromril armour as an option, and I believe the Ravening Hordes lists were made inbetween that.Ravening Hordes dates back to the start of 6th Edition, before any of the modern Armies books were written. The lists were literally just everything the armies had in 5th Edition, given new points costs, profiles and options. It featured very little in the way of innovation.
Or the list is just outdated.Yeah. There isn't any in-game logic to it. No one except Chaos Warriors had 4+ armour at the point Ravening Hordes was published.
Kera foehunter:
Because they live in a desert !!need to steal land and get the ore where meteorite crash
Thommy H:
Actually, the Plain of Zharr is a meteorite impact site. I’m pretty sure they’re swimming in meteoric iron.
Kera foehunter:
Swimming hum!!! no wounder i lost a lot of slaves on the plains Zharr
they drown

Hopefully when the CD book is remade the heroes will get Chaos Armour. That will stop us looking like the poor cousins.
