[Archive] Resolution Found: AKA Warhammer Forge/Forge World Woes

Nicodemus:

Had nothing but problems with Forge World since I started ordering Chaos Dwarf stuff from them… thought I’d stick it here just so it’s on record with the rest of the community… and I know I’m not the only person who was missing wheels with their Iron Daemon :mad

Here’s a tiny excerpt of my latest e-mail to them:

I’ve attached the UPS brokerage COD paperwork. I’ve been very polite and

understanding with you guys the whole way along here with the numerous problems

with my orders, which so far have totaled £426.65 in two months. However, I’m

growing increasingly incensed that there has been yet another problem with the

declared value on one of your packages as I phoned when there was a problem

last time and very politely asked that you guys please ensure this doesn’t

happen again.

To be very clear - I DO NOT WANT YOU TO CONTACT UPS to ammend the invoice.

As importer I’m on the hook for your mistakes in paperwork, so even if you

correct the declared value I will have to pay $15 in service fees to the

broker. I realize that with FW not being on the hook financially for mistakes

like this there’s probably very little impetus for improving the accuracy of

your paperwork, but this is ultimately going to cost you guys business!

To summarize, out of three orders totalling £426.65 I’ve had problems with:

unuseable component due to miscasting (order 161572)

missing pieces for the rocket (order 161572)

missing pieces for the iron daemon (order 149124)

not sending the right quantity of infernal guard (order 149124)

incorrect declared value of replacements for missing rocket parts (order 161572)

incorrect declared value of replacements for missing infernal guard (order 149124)

not to mention sending out a missing piece twice (order 161572)

And by the way, sending out a replacement piece twice is odd to start with, except there was a problem with wheels missing for the rocket as well as a miscasting for a piece of the cannon, so I’m not sure who thought they were rectifying the problem by only sending wheels anyway.

I don’t feel that I’m out-to-lunch with voicing my concerns about all of these problems with missing pieces, or unusable miscast pieces, or screwups with declared values on replacement items for which I’ve already paid taxes and brokerage fees. Something really needs to be done as this has grown to the point of being just absolutely ridiculous for a company such as yours.
How can they possibly have so many screw ups? It boggles the mind!!

Thommy H:

Sounds like you’re well within your rights to complain - they’d have had a hilarious expletive-drenched e-mail from me well before this point, so I admire your self control. There’s no excuse for such a catalogue of incompetence.

Its even more galling when you consider the amount that they charge for these things...I weep for what has become of warhammer some days...:mad

Nicodemus
It was a very nicely written email. You were certainly very polite in your approach, and you certianly have had enough problems, with FW as be a little beyond polite.

zobo1942:

On three separate occasions, I went a grocery store to buy red onions. Every single time, when I got home and sliced them open, they were rotten.

Hence, I no longer purchase items from this store.

Given the fact that you’re so good at creating your own stuff, why do you bother putting up with that level of incompetence?

tackaberry:

My Iron Daemon is not a good cast, but being in North America, I’m not going through the hassle.

Necrotique:

They miscast my titan :frowning:

I need a new cockpit and crew (with were completely missing) armour plates for its groin area, as well as a new vulcan mega-bolter (it was missing the whole bottom half including the rivets and plates)

They told me they’d let me know when it was on the way and give me the shipping details which they didn’t do and I received the mega-bolter a few days ago.

I then emailed them asking when I would get the rest of my replacement order and they replied with

“Unfortunately titans are cast-to-order and as such it will be up to 10 days before your replacement order is cast up. Also, in the future, please only email one address as it can get confusing for our colleagues and I”

Is it just me, or is that disgusting customer service? If they mess up a titan they should cast it up lickety-split and re-send it to me, as I paid a while ago now.

:cheers

Chaos-ThaneWill:

Oh, this scares me, i am planning a whole army of the CD dudes…

Thommy H:

"...Also, in the future, please only email one address as it can get confusing for our colleagues and I"
That's a bit cheeky. They continually mess up your order and then they have the gall to chastise you for making their lives harder? Not good enough.

Bolg:

I’m so going to build my own stuff, seems like less trouble d:

Galladorn:

On a much more positive note. My order of 30 infernal guard w/ shields, 30 infernal guard w/ fireglaives, 2 command packs, and 1 Iron Daemon are in great shape. I ordered them around the end of June.

I am about 80% complete on the assembly with plenty of resin to cut away, but not a single miscast so far.

Just wanted to add a positive here.

another positive: id, mc and 30 ig + command in perfect condition, and way less flash than expected... love the models which imo are a joy to work with...

vulcanologist:

My experience like Rabotak’s was positive. Never had anything from Forgeworld or in resin before but my iron daemon, fireglaives and command were perfect and arrived very quickly too.

Necrotique:

I have to agree on that - my Chaos Dwarves were perfect. Ordered a unit of fireglaives and the regular infernal guard.

:cheers

Nicodemus:

Nope… I think it was probably everybody!

If you look at the number of hits the site got on Sunday it was only about 1/10th the usual number of hits for a weekend day.

Skink:

…I had a few problems with my iron daemon as well!!! The wheel guard and a couple of levers are amongst the ugliest miscast I’ve ever seen! I’m fixing them with green stuff, but I found myself wondering if such a model has been worth 50 quid

Ishkur Cinderhat:

I never had any problems of that magnitude with FW and I’ve ordered tons of stuff from them during the past years. Only one time, a figure was missing in the package and I solved that by calling the guys directly. I found that they have a very slow reaction time to emails (probably because they get hundreds of emails every day or so) so picking up the phone, while more expensive, is more efficient IMO.

Ugly Green Trog:

only problem I ever had was the FW space wolf terminators a few years ago, the wolf lord was missing his little lamp pack thingy so I wrote off and asked them to send me another, I got sent a whole new set of terminator torsos to replace 1 teeny fault which was pretty cool.

Larendard:

They should dump the resin and use the same plastic that GW uses for their miniatures…

Ishkur Cinderhat:

Great idea, apart from being technically impossible.
