Father Grumpmas:
I don’t think there has been a good Arthur movie apart from “The Holy Grail”.
The 30’s Errol Flynn “Robin Hood” is still my favourite; when Robin shows Marian the starving villagers and how he is helping them, you actually get a bit of real feeling for the injustice they are suffereing - it almost has a bit of a socialist vibe to it.
Plus Oliva de Havilland is absolutely stunning as Marian

Willmark:
Khan might have to check that out.
FG- Errol Flynn FTW! By all accounts he was ‘keeping the pimp hand strong’ with all the ladies back in the day (i.e. the 30’s).
Kera foehunter:
but arthur is a better fighter.

With the men too - Howard Hughes for example. Also I remember something about Errol Flynn owning some kind of pirate ship (*this is not really a pirate ship*).
Nevertheless, Kera has a point. I have never seen Robin Hood hack off any body parts.
Theory_Man:
Maybe there should be a poll attached to this thread?
Kera foehunter:
well kinda late. at first i thought it was a flop
Willmark:
Of course (playing devils advocate here) Robin hood could split the tail end of an arrow with another…
Perv:
But he cant hit a cow with a banjo if someone is blowing in his ear
Kera foehunter:
Robin hood never sleeped with his half sister.
Kera foehunter:
in the movie excalaber his half sister morgana ( morgana put a spell on arthur).they had a son who grew up and fought Arthur but they both died at the end.
torn:
all good ancient stories have some incest attached to them. its like to medieval version of jeremy kyle.

Yes. Agreed. "Oedipus Rex," anyone? I'm pretty sure that in the original Arthur legends Morgana doesn't need a spell to seduce him. But in every legend I know their son Modred grows up to be Arthur's enemy and they kill each other. The best ending of the Arthur stories imo is the one where Modred impales Arthur on his spear, and then Arthur pulls himself along the spear in order to get close enough to stab Modred right back. Like Lurtz in LOTR, except more awesome.
