So, don’t really know where this should be posted. As far as I know we don’t have any thread, right? I we do please move it to the correct place…
Question: Both the Black Orcs and spider charged the hobgoblins at the same time. Is this the correct way to line them up? As far as I know we should maximize the models fighting from both sides and try to equalize the charing units as much as possible. But since the spider can make all its attacks from a tiny area on the corner this seems legit? (Btw, the BO are five wide and four in the second rank)

Bloodbeard:
It’s correct Mr. Tjub. My destroyer and fireborn once ate 60 skeletons that way.
Yodrin:
As Bloodbeard said, correct;)
JMR:
(...) and try to equalize the charing units as much as possible

The charge is correct. You don't need to equalize charging units or anything though.
gashnag:
While yes is seems unfair the charging player chooses how the units are moved in as long as both end up in contact with the opponent at the end of the movement and all models in the enemy unit are in base to base with an opponent there really isn’t anything you can do.

Yes, but that's the way it works. It can be abused a lot to protect monsters by clipping the corner of the enemy unit, but it's all according to rules. I'd also have liked to "equalize" the units somewhat, in fact I generally do that when possible.
Billy Ocean:
You DO have to try and equalize the number of models that end up in combat from charging units, but also maximize the total number of models. So if he had charged with two 5-wide units, he would want to get 3 models from each unit in combat. But in this case, the monster only has one model so its not an issue, and the charge was resolved correctly.

Great, thanks for all the answers! We don’t play often enough to have a good grip of the rules, but we are getting there.
