[Archive] Shadowforge dwarf bloodbowl conversion

inkpwn:

Hi, I’m looking to convert the shadowforge gridiron dwarfs,  http://www.tritex-games.co.uk/store/product.php?id=5224 ,into a goth(in the modern fashion sense) chaos dwarf team, this would involve me green stuffing some earings and nose rings but the most difficult thing would be the bull centaurs. I need a way to cut these dwarfs in half:

And a way to attach them to the bull body, so two things, would pinning work then greenstuffing over the wound and does anyone know of a smaller bull body that would suit them? (They are only ST4 so bodys that fit large bases are a bit off, but do-able).

The hobgoblins are going to be shadowforge gridiron humans, one of which is already finished and I will put up a of her picture later.
I am also looking for a some other miniatures for this team:

.minotaur
.coach
.reroll counter
.turn counter

So if anyone has any ideas please say because I value any and all input.:hat off

Loki:

The best thing to cut models in half is the gw razor saw i have had mine for years now and its still going strong , its gives a super smooth cut which is easy to work with, pinning and then green is the best option for attaching the upper half of the model to the bull body.

The only bull body?Ts that i know of are the gw ones but as you said that might be a little bit to big for what you have in mind , but i am sure some will be able to point you in the right direction of some good bits to use.

if you look on the show case section of the main site there is a section for blood bowl this might give you some ideas for counters and coach

A quick snap of the first hobgoblin, sorry it isn’t fantastic but my auto focus has decided that it likes the background more than the mini, its actual the best one of about 12 trys.

There will be a better one once the camera gets its bum in gear.:~

Edit: just noticed that the image is HUGE! I will attempt to get on a actual PC and shrink it down before the day is done.
Edit 2: the photobucket link is still there but I took down the image from here because it was a bit fuzzy and a new one has been added

Da Crusha:

cool hobgoblin and cool bloodbowl theme. for the bull centaur I personally would use the gw bull centaur bottom half but if you think that is too big, I would recommend the grudge pony

Here is one that was converted for bloodbowl and you can see that it uses the 25mm round base http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/edogtothemoon/B5p8gYwWkKGrHqNhcEyrmW1liTBMuglInE6g_12.jpg

I like the idea of the grudge pony, but the idea for the team came from the bad pun ‘udder chaos’ so I was hoping for bulls/cows so I could greenstuff on a udder for some cheeky pun action.

I will definatly keep the pony in mind because its a nice scale and a bit more feminine than the cow, though the cow/bull would also be a little chaos more dwarf-ish.

Da Crusha:

for the reroll counters you should go with glasses of milk to go with the whole udder thing. hehe

or am I going in the wrong direction?

inkpwn:

No, that genius!

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

Da Crusha:

Cool!

I just recognized your name, you are from Talk fantasy football aren’t you? welcome to CDO!

inkpwn:

Yes I am  same tag over there too. I’m not going to bring this one up over there until the project is finished though.

inkpwn:

Better picture of the first hobgoblin

Da Crusha:

oh cool that is much more clear. looks good. To cut the miniature I would use my (generic) dremel. cuts through pewter in just about a minute. then I would definitely pin the pieces together and greenstuff the seam. Here is one of my bull centaurs, you can see I greenstuffed the seam in the WiP pic and it worked out quite nicely. I have other WiP pics earlier in the Blog.

Thanks  love you conversion work, htrhraks body, black orc torso and chaos warrior head?

Da Crusha:

Thanks! yeah, well actually I used a regular Bull centaur bottom half but they are the same.
