The fifth issue of the Skavenblight Gazette has been released. For those who have not heard of its name before, it’s the webmagazine created by and for the members of the UnderEmpire.net Skaven community. However, just because it’s a Skaven webmagazine, doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be interesting for those gamers amongst the online communities that don’t play Skaven, right?
This issue sees the report of the UnderEmpire Get Together, an event held in Warhammer World during the summer. Next to that, there is the column of our ever-helpful Seer Squeek, but also a new article in the Legends of the UnderEmpire series and the second article from the Playbook of the Rat series. From the ‘golden oldies’, we have an article dedicated to Man 'o War and also an article dedicated to stripping miniatures. So, as you can see, there’s something for everyone in this issue.
So, get reading and let us know what you thought of it.

P.S.:
Just in case people wonder about it, I have The Flying Beaver’s and Xander’s “Okay” to post this message here.
so is this a opening to raid the skaven site!!!
so can we post are news letter over there
lord Vinshqueek??? if we haven't already

We already have. Which I believe was the precedent for posting UE's webzine on here. Seeing as I've been semi-active on both sites for a while, I like the coming-together that's forming.
No worries there Kera they keep abreast of our mag as well as the reverse. In fact Skaven Lord Vinshqueek and I have conversed about those topics in the past, no harm no foul.
No, we hadn’t forgotten about releasing the magazine, but in the end, the editing of the event articles took a bit more time then expected, with me doing a Blood Bowl article next to it (which all tends to happen in the weekend, as I simply can’t find the time for it in between monday and friday due to my job)… The idea for 2009 is to have the releases be somewhat sooner after one another (instead of seven months :rolleyes: ), but that also depends, of course, on the number of articles we get for an issue eventually.
Looking forward to hear what you thought of it. :cheers
@BilboBaggins:
Excellent, mate, thanks a lot! Looking forward to hear their responses.
@Kera foehunter:
Well, as Willmark already mentioned, taking the time to contact the admins of a site and (politely) ask them whether you can post a promotional piece on a webzine does have its benefits, as I know and as Willmark knows.

No problem.
I did register onto the UnderEmpire.net also.
I just spent a few hours looking up forums for all the Warhammer Armies (That I could think of) and put them in a PDF and printed it. I'll throw it in with my army books (Empire, Dwarf, Ravening Hoards, Storm of Chaos, Lustia, Lizardmen, O&G, Skaven, Ogre Kingdoms and Warhammer Annual 2002) or my Big Red Book (Warhammer Rulebook). I don't go the table without them. Half the time I end up playing kids without books.
I’ve played Skaven at tournaments and leagues for three years in a row and have to say that while having had the most stunning victories and embarassing defeats, they remain to be one of the funniest teams to use… Good luck to you.
I got a chance to skim it and as always the production values are top notch. I’ll you know comments on it as a whole later when I can read through it fully.
I will also say this out of all of the fanzines out there (and I have read almost all of them) the Skavenblight Gazette & the Word of Hashut are two the best in terms of production, just not necessarily in that order!
I found the Blood Bowl article particularly good, it’s been ages since I read anything about that. The Man O War one as well. We really must find someone who plays with a CD fleet for WoH.
I really must look into a decent paint stripping product.
Did Craig Lee do the Griggle Rustplate art? That is seriously impressive.
grins… Well, I happen to be a very active Blood Bowl coach (both in the league I play in and in the Dutch tournament scene) and in addition a very fanatic devotee of the Specialist Games, so yes, when I happen to write articles for the SBG, I usually tend to be a bit biased towards the content I’m writing on. Nah, it’s usually easier to write on what you know and that just happened to be Blood Bowl in the cases of the third and fifth SBG, in which both Blood Bowl articles were released.
Of course, it also gives a somewhat more varied content in regard to the games you write about.
I’d have to inform whether Craig Lee did the Griggle Rustplate art, as I’m not sure of that. So, expect me to get back on that one.
… And if anyone has comments or feedback, I’m all ears.
