I’m new to this forum and since i started a chaos dwarf army 2 weeks ago i thought i should share my progress a bit.
Here is a little about me, my name is Peter Zuidgeest, 31 years old and been hobbing for about 17 years now.
I tend to hop from 40k to fantasy from time to time and like to paint new armies.
After winning Armies on Parade 2 times in the Benelux i started my own painting studio, Scar’s Miniature Madness and do this fulltime and made it possible to live from it. (which i’m very grateful for)
Its hard work, every day +/- 10 hours of painting so i don’t have much free time to spend on my own armies these day’s.
But when i have a bit of time and some progress i would like to share that here with you guys!
My aim is to finish this army somewhere in januari.
So far i have bought:
1 Smith on flying cow
3 Smiths
1 BSB
1 Bull cent character
40 Fire glaves
40 Infernal guards
6 Bull cent’s
1 Magma cannon
1 Death shieker
1 Dreadquake Mortar (Almost finished)
1 Iron Daemon
1 K’daai destroyer (conversion from a maulerfiend)
The theme i would like to go with is a lot or metals with rust and magma glow effects.
Also a pale/blue-ish kind of skin colours.
So enough to paint till my deadline! (doubt that i would make it )
Enough of the chatting here are some first WIP pics:
Really great work Scar. I did a google search for “miniature painting scar” to get tips on painting scars, ended up on your page - was one of the first shown.
Congratulations on getting your own business, hard work, but super cool man!
Looks great so far, and I do like your pose on the Great Taurus!
tjub
Fully agree with Tjub!
I have never thought of a rearing Taurus... I find that this pose looks much better than the charging one, as this way people ca see the beast in all its details!
Nice Bull Centaurs and K’daai. How about switching the tail for something less 40k-ish? Those cables don’t help the fantasy impression.
Admiral
Thanks, and yeah i have been struggling with that myself also, any idea of what i can use?
I did remove it first but then it looks like its taking a dump lol
So any suggestions would be more then appreciated.

Thanks guys, yeah its such a great model and there is so much lost in the original pose that i could not resist to repose it.
Wow, the dreadquake is off the charts! Superior painting displayed in here!
However I’m not a big fan of the central Bull Centaurs pose. Looks a bit like Drunken Boxing and gives the unit a warped appearance.

Thanks, Yeah i agree it looks a bit silly that fist, they are fit with magnets though, so i can change the pose of the fist.
I think that is the problem on the pictures.
Next bulls have already been build and have less drastic movement in them so they would fit better in the back rank.
I have also started on my 20 infernal guards, its not much so far, just the metals and rust is on them, i have this sunday a full day of painting for myself since the misses is out.
I plan on finishing the lot by then.
I will put up some more updates upcoming months since i have a tournament the 22 of november and i will need a 2k list painted by then.
I have no clue of what to play yet, but i lean to massive infantry and bulls with a dreadquake and a iron daemon.
Anyone with some advice on this is more then welcome!
