For only ,6,50 or $9,- you get this great and original miniature which is the first in line for our beloved evil stunties! The line is called ‘Depraved Dwarfs’.
As soon as I get more info straight from the source I’ll let you know!:hat off
That is incredible. First the Dwarf Lord of Chaos, and now THIS! it’s like we are finally seeing a Hellcannon Crew style chaos dwarf miniature range come to life!
It’s things like these that may very well force GW to compete!
I like the model - it is very detailed and looks very proffesional - however in my opinion its a bit like a savage dwarf (in the vein of savage orc) - with all the skulls he looks like he has spent to long in the wilds …
1) Details are soft, with the exception of the little twirly bits that Scibor puts on all his figures and which look as out of place as ever on this guy.
2) He’s clearly not using an amature - why does he have a thing hanging between his legs like that? It’s because Scibor can’t do legs: all his figures have some sort of cloak or robe that means there’s no gap between floor and groin. As a result, the amantomy is poor, the posing is ridiculous and it looks like it was carved from a block of green stuff.
3) The chainmail is crap. He’s just poked a cocktail stick into a flap of green stuff.
As with all Scibor’s stuff, it’s fine as a “scratch build” or as a “conversion” - if someone posted this as a sculpt for their army in the Conversions section, I’d say good job. But as a professional piece of work, that’s going to be cast and sold, he’s just not even in the same league as most modern producers of miniatures. He needs to spend time learning the basics before he starts wacking all this detail on his podgy little lumps.
That said, apparently people eat this stuff up, so you can’t blame the guy for not bothering to improve.
Why do I have to do better than someone to be allowed an opinion? It’s an absurd argument that never holds water - I don’t cook professionaly, but I know when my meal isn’t prepared to an acceptable standard in a restaraunt. I don’t drive, but I can spot someone doing it badly. I’ve never run a country, but I can have an opinion on how society should be conducted.
And I’m not going to buy it, but if someone posts a picture of it on a message board then I think it’s fine for me to say why I won’t be buying it. Especially if the rest of the thread contains not one dissenting opinion.
Okay, maybe I’ve misunderstood you then and I do apologise if so. However I know there are a lot of Scibor bashers out there and I do count you as one of them. Your right I know, but the way you state your opnion could be a bit friendlier.
Especially if the rest of the thread contains not one dissenting opinion.

Maybe because the people responding honestly like it?
I know there are a lot of Scibor bashers out there
Yeah, there's a reason for that.
Maybe because the people responding honestly like it?
Which is fine. What I meant was, if there was a discussion about the figure instead of everyone saying the same thing, I probably wouldn't bother to wade in. As it is, the thread needed a voice of reason :p

Ya, I guess you either like his stuff or hate it. I just don't see the use for people constantly bashing him when something new shows up. If you say you hate his stuff okay but why keep repeating yourself?

This would actually be the first time I've commented in any detail in a thread featuring his work. I think I did the "nope" thing once before, but that's it.
well, most of your points are valid and I have to agree.
You are wrong on your second point though. While I agree that this shield between his legs didn't necesarily be there, there are enough examples that scibor CAN do legs without using skirts to hide them. I believe this shield is there to make casting easier.
In addition you are right when you say he is using the same stylistic elements over and over again (fur, stamp work etc.).
This is no bad thing though since - from my point of view - it makes the models look cool and makes them fit together.
All in all this is definetly one of the best "CD stand in" models that were released lately.
He is as good, if not even better, then the AoD Dwarf. Who btw. is having something between his legs, poorly sculpted chainmail, a very static pose and is out of scale.

Agreed :hat I saw this sculpt and the first thing i thought was its a bit odd .I am sure alot of people will like it but the cloak and body look like one lump to me.I would expect alot better but then again i have seen some atrocious Scribor sculpts amongst some of the more awesome
