There is about a 90% chance I will be working for the one and only GW within the next few weeks.
While I am, I am going to take every chance to promote the chaos dwarfs, whether it be bringing my army in and working on it and showing it off, to badgering my higher ups about it. I know it wont do much, but what ever I can do to try and promote our dark cause, I will.
Remember to refer them to the website if they sound interested! Nothing is sold here so the website isn’t a conflict of interests for you to recommend. Would be good, as always, to have new faces and ideas coming in.
hehe, I did taht before:) I mean work for GW, part time to pass away the holidays since I was here most days anywa may as well get paid.
If you have an army, stic it in the cabinet, people love to see well converted models and alot of people will be interested in them, that I can promise
I know as ex-GW staff that badgering higher ups with Chaos Dwarfs doesn’t help too much but is always worth to try. If only to see their reaction when you start about them again!
I figured it would be worth a try. I only have a squad of warriors nearing completion at the moment, but I am going to start mass producing them in time. I will get pics when I have camera access of course.
But all glory to Hashut :cheers
I know people have begun to notice when I do most of my conversion work at the local GW haha:hat off
One of the great things for hobbyists working at GW is that they get to work on their models all day, as there are very few customers in
AGPO
I actually found that at my shop, I never had any time to work on models. I seemed to be always busy. I blame the summer time, and the fact that I worked at the Eaton Centre, which is super busy.
the ones local to me have completely dwindled customer wise over the last 5 years or so, apart from in school holidays when they are full of kids. i think with the internet becoming more prominent an the cost of the hobby being what it is not a lot of people will pay store prices, so all you really get in the smaller stores are the gamin group guys and the people just looking around.
also its alway really irritating to go into a shop and have some nerd quiz you about your hobby and then recommend something completely stupid, like you dont know anything yourself. i know a lot of people who dont go in because of that.
Assuming that I train at my local store, I know I am probably going to have little time to work on my stuff. My store is positioned right next to a movie theater (like, there is the courtyard to the theater, and the store is within the courtyard on a strip joint). Traffic is usually busy.
According to the guys that work there though, I am allowed to work on my stuff if there are no other projects going on. So I don’t know.
I work on my stuff at GW now all the time, since I now live within walking distance of the store. I prefer to use their green stuff and paint, as they have a more readily supply of both.
Ahh this is cool! The more people to nag GW the better I think… with more people like you our voice will grow too big for them to ignore us! :hat
I did hear a rumour down at the local here (although I do not know if its BS or not) That some big wigs in GW ARE actually planning to do the CD’s but its on the back burner cuz they wanna get the other armies up to date with the 7th ed…
Pretty much what we’ve been hearing for years. Except befor eit was sixth edition and they had time for ogres.

Tell me about it. I remember one guy worked in my local store, who was in the beginers gaming grup when I’d already played for five years. He had the nerve to tell me I really should update all my chaos warriors to the new models because they looked dated. The guy I was playing pointed out quick as a flash that the redback really should replace his models on the grounds the painting was so bad it lowered the tone. The rest of us nearly died laughing at him but seriously, do they think that sales line works?!?
I once applied to work for the German white dwarf editorial office, but they would only pay pennies for that. So I eventually stayed with my management job.
A friend of mine however worked for GW a few years - he was one of the sales guys responsible for doing promotion tours in Southern Germany. Working for GW may not be the hobby paradise some people imagine it to be, but I guess you can’t be more immersed into Warhammer than there. And you can be sure Hashut will be pleased with you promoting our cause. ^^
the reason i left my gw job was because i dont like the newer breed of gamer, you know the type, big head thinks hes amazing, cant take a loss and just talks about his army being the best,
i prefer the old days of playing games, having a few brewskeys and just having a good time, plus i was sick of mothers comming in and asking if we stocked halo 3
